Antonio’s eyes narrow. “What did you say?”
I get out of the water and lean on the rock so that I’m facing him.
“I love you, Antonio,” I confess. “I’ve loved you from the first time you brought me to this place. You said if I came here, I might fall in love with Summerset. Instead, I fell in love with you. And I will always love you, no matter what your last name is and even if you forget who I am.”
He takes my hand.
“I’ll never forget you. You’re my wife.”
He kisses my hand.
“You’re mine, Triss, and I am yours. Always.”
I place my hand on Antonio’s cheek. He presses his lips to mine. Then he wraps his arms around me tight, like he never plans on letting go. I hope he never does.
Our happily ever after starts today.
