Blame Daisy. She invited him to join one of her technology classes. He ended up giving an impromptu seminar on diversifying your portfolio when one of Daisy’s students took over the class to show off some new emojis. Needless to say, the whole thing devolved.
I ducked into a cute French brassiere, grabbing a seat by the window so I could focus on texting my family as French music piped through the speakers and little sconces provided just enough light for me to see the screen. The ridiculous chat served as the perfect distraction to get out of my head about the gallery show.
A waiter took my order, and I immediately turned back to my phone.
