He was going to hurt someone.

Unfortunately, the person he wanted to hurt the most was himself. How had he not noticed what dire straits Emily was in?

And a fucking strip club?

The auction had been risky enough, but now, knowing how she’d gotten there, he wanted to punch someone in the face.

Of course, he had an identical twin. It would almost be like punching himself in the face…

No, don’t take your anger at yourself out on Desmond. He’s an asshole, but he doesn’t deserve that.

It really would feel good, though.

Turning his head to bury his face in her hair, he growled in her ear. “You are never allowed to let your situation get that bad again, do you hear me? I don’t care how or why. You will come to me for help. Period.”

Emily huffed in indignation, squirming away from his lips, so he could see her roll her eyes at him. “Well, of course, I’d come to you now.” It wasn’t her words that made her sound disrespectful; it was her ‘duh’ tone.

Damian raised his eyebrows at her, and she flushed. Oh, his little girl was going for a hell of a spanking after this. The danger she’d put herself in, the brattiness that was coming through now… it was one thing to brat to his twin, another to him.

He looked at his brothers. Emily clearly didn’t want him spreading her business.

“It wasn’t through a member of the club, but I have a feeling it was someone who knows a member. I’ll track it down and let you know.”

Desmond looked like he wanted to protest, but Bastian reached over to put his hand on Desmond’s knee, which made him settle down, though he still looked grouchy. Then again, maybe his face had just frozen like that, the way their mother had always warned it would.

“I’m just pissed someone is running a freaking auction out of my club, and I didn’t know about it.” Braden was flushed, fists clenching and unclenching on the desk in front of him. He looked at Damian. “Can you show me the website?”

“Sure. Stay here, Sunshine.” Damian shifted Emily off his lap, so she stayed in the chair while he went around to the other side of Braden’s desk to get on his computer. It only took him a moment to pull up the website and use his password to get in. By that time, Desmond and Bastian were crowding around to see it as well.

He glanced up to see Emily curled up in the chair, watching them with wide eyes. The expression on her face was reminiscent of the one from that first night, and he felt the rush of arousal surge down to his groin. But he still needed to punish her. His hand was itching to give her a well-deserved spanking.

Yes, he’d already spanked her once before over putting her pride before her safety, but that was before he knew how bad it had been.

That was before she was his.

Meeting his gaze, Emily started squirming in her seat, as though she could sense his thoughts.

“What the fuck!” Braden exclaimed, drawing Damian’s attention back to the computer screen. “It’s almost all members. Where… what…”

“We’ll help you look into this,” Bastian said, putting his hand on Braden’s shoulder. “Don’t worry. We’ll get to the bottom of it.”

“Would have helped if we’d known about it sooner.” Of course, Desmond was going to blame Damian.

“Well, Detective, you wouldn’t have known about it at all if it wasn’t for me.” Damian smirked at his twin, who scowled deeper. “Excuse me for thinking that Braden was trying out a new thing for the club. It’s not the worst idea in the world, and it’s clearly making a lot of money. Plus, no one was coerced. Emily signed up of her own free will, and there’s nothing to indicate there’s anything illegal going on with the auction itself… it’s just the fact it looks like it’s connected to BDE.”

“And a million things could go wrong with that, Blake.”

“But they haven’t yet, and we have the chance to stop it before anything does, thanks to me, Bryce.” Damian raised his eyebrows at Desmond. “Aren’t you going to thank me, bro?”

It would be a cold day in hell before his twin ever admitted that Damian had gotten one over on him.

“Play nice, you two,” Bastian admonished, still watching as Braden scrolled through the various offerings on the site.

Desmond had a point that something could go terribly wrong. The site looked like it was connected to BDE, which meant anything that did go wrong would be on them, even if they hadn’t known about the auction. The connection also probably made their members think it was legitimate in every way… the same way Damian had.

But it would be a cold day in hell before he ever admitted his twin was right about something.

“Actually, Bastian, while you’re here, could I ask a favor?” He was glad Bastian was there because he’d been gearing himself up to reach out to Desmond, which would have been painful. Now, he could ask both of them while pretending he was only talking to his twin’s partner.
