The kid opened his mouth, but Ben was having none of that. He shook him with one hand while the other hand cracked across his cheek.

“Skippy, I suggest you pay attention,” Ben growled.

Angelina watched in awe. She might have found it a little bit funny if the kid didn’t look like he was going to make a puddle on her floor. There was no way she was cleaning that.

“Ben, let the poor idiot go. He delivers for everyone in town.”

“In a minute, Shorty, honey. Asshole has to know his place, and so far, I’m not sure he has learned his lesson.”

“I won’t talk to her,” he blubbered, ready to cry.

“What else?”

“She isn’t frigid.”

“Get on with it,” Ben barked.

“You get deliveries.”

“That’s right. Anything that you are hired to deliver gets placed in my hands. Because why?”

“Ben, I’m not cleaning it up if you make him pee on the floor,” Angelina rolled her eyes.

The kid didn’t know where to look. He glanced at Angelina, and Ben hitched him higher.

“Last time, Skippy. Angelina Davis is not for your eyes. You do not look at her, talk to her, or spank that sad little dick of yours, thinking about how sexy she is. You understand?”

“Yeah.”

“What?” Ben’s tone was deadly.

“Yeah. Yes.”

“Yes, what?”

“Yes, sir,” he gulped.

“That’s right,” Ben glowered as he lowered him back onto his feet.

“This is for her.”

Ben smiled when the kid placed an envelope in his hand and raced down the stairs as fast as his untied overpriced tennis shoes would allow him.

“Damn kids nowadays,” he grumbled.

The delivery guy had his hand on the door when Ben stopped him.

“Make sure you tell all your friends,” he called.

“Yes, sir,” he answered, fleeing for his car.

Angelina couldn’t believe it. Within twenty minutes, the entire town would be talking about Ben. They had to get a handle on this. He was going to ruin everything. She couldn’t let him destroy their ruse. Jake was counting on her. A secret date now and then was one thing. How could she hold up her end of the deal with Army Ken announcing to the world she was his? Her father must have taken one too many pain pills if he thought Angelina would smile and go along with this.

“What the hell is this?” Ben roared.

Angelina snapped to attention. Ben stood by the stairs with papers in his hand, looking ready to kill. Oh no. No, no, no, no. This cannot be happening.

“Why are you reading my mail? That is a gross invasion of privacy,” Angelina tried to sound indignant.
