A few minutes later, Vulture came through the door carrying his medical bag. “What did they give him?”

Warren held up the needle.

“That dumb ass has the worst luck.”

Vulture dug in his bag until he found what he was looking for. He held open a clear plastic bag, and Warren dropped the needle inside.

“Can you give him something to wake him up?”

Vulture shook his head. “No idea what they gave him. Letting him sleep it off is our best bet as long as he is stable.”

Warren’s focus narrowed as a plan formulated in his head.

“Hook him up and keep a watch from the app.”

Vulture nodded and got to work. He pressed sticky sensors onto Brooks’ chest and brought them up on his phone.

“All set.”

Warren stalked to the door. There was a traitor in their midst. It was time to take care of business. He just got his wife back. Warren wasn’t about to let her out of his sight any longer than necessary. They had better pray to whoever brought them comfort that his Rose didn’t have a hair out of place when he found her. Nothing would save them, but if she was hurt, Warren had no problem inflicting as much pain as he could before sending them to meet whoever they prayed to.

Tank and Roach were addressing the members of the club. Warren moved to stand beside them.

“We go together, and we go now,” he announced.

Tank paused.

“Waiting isn’t an option,” Vulture agreed.

“They are ours,” Tank roared. “Someone made their last mistake today thinking they could take what isn’t theirs. There will be no surrender. Not a one of these fuckers sees the sun come up tomorrow.”

The men sitting around him stood ready to get Rose and Franny back.

“I don’t think the rat is here,” Roach said under his breath.

“He is here all right.” Warren glared until the other man backed down.

“We leave in five,” Tank called out over the growing din. “Bring everything. We search the property for bodies and survivors as soon as Franny and Thorn are home. I want no trace of these bastards left.”

Men scattered to do as he instructed. Warren followed Tank to his office with Vulture and Roach right behind him. Tank sat at his desk typing furiously.

“She is about five miles southwest from here.” He turned the screen so Warren could see.

“They are there, or her ring is there.”

“Smart getting her a tracker in her ring.” Roach was laser focused on the screen.

“Isn’t there an old settlement out there?” Vulture asked. “Everything is abandoned. Haven’t been out there in years, but the last time I was there, some of the buildings were still standing.”

“Who owns it?”

“Today we do,” Tank answered.

“One team. One show of force. We surround the place and take them down. There are at least two of them, plus whoever was shooting at us earlier.”

“No one leaves,” Warren reminded them.

“The brother?” Roach raised an eyebrow in Warren’s direction.
