His hand around my neck as he drove into me.

It’s been two weeks since that night at the bar, but fuck, it feels like an eternity.

I close my eyes and try to push away the memories of Python’s hard body pressed against mine.

The smell of leather mixed with charcoal still lingers on my skin.

I know I shouldn’t have done what I did, but how was I supposed to stop myself? Honestly?

It was something wild, something crazy, something I’ve never done before.

Everyone deserves to do something crazy in their life, right?

That’s what it was.

A one-time thing.

Python is all wrong for me in every way, and yet there’s something about him that only makes me want him more.

I’ve had enough trouble with men, though.

The last thing I need to do is get caught up with a man like him—a man who has danger constantly lingering around his neck.

A cold chill runs down my spine as I fight with myself internally.

I want to see him again, but I know it’s not a good idea.

I know better than to let myself get pulled into his world.

If I thought Tony was dangerous, I know Python well supersedes that.

Putting myself around Python is only a dangerous game, and no one can expect to play with fire and remain unburned.

The last thing he said to me that night still echoes in my mind. “This won’t be the last time, Astra.”

He might think it wasn’t, but it is.

I can’t get mixed up with him and all the problems I know are going to come with him.

Oakleigh texted me yesterday and asked if I wanted to come over to the clubhouse.

I was reluctant at first, but she said we could chill and have a couple of drinks and that they were making food.

She really did a good job of convincing me, so I agreed.

But I’m not showing up empty-handed.

Oakleigh came by last week to bring a couple of smaller paintings, and there was a cat that she really liked.

She kept saying Razor would kill her if she brought a cat to the clubhouse, so I decided to bring it with me.

When she gave me the address, I was a little surprised that the clubhouse wasn’t on the outskirts.

I figured that’s where a clubhouse would be, where they’d have a little bit more room.

It’s only about ten minutes from the center of the city and is located on the corner of a busy street.

There’s a stone wall that goes around the entire perimeter of the building, and the building is on multiple levels.
