The barista clears her throat, pulling me from my inner thoughts.

I turn around, my hands shaking, and pick up my hazelnut latte, my mini loaf already in my hands.

I take a sip, trying to ignore the taste of bile that’s slowly rising in my mouth. I feel like I’m actually going to be sick.

Fuck it, I can’t unsee what’s happening right now, so the only thing I can do is confront him.

I walk over to the booth and clear my throat loud enough to cause them both to look at me.

Tony’s face goes pale at the sight of me, immediately yanking his hand away from hers. “Astra,” he starts, but I’m not going to let him finish.

My voice is cold and callous. “I saw you, so don’t try to talk yourself out of this.”

The blonde girl looks up at me, furrowing her brows in the process. “Sorry, who are you?”

I scoff and shake my head. “I’m Astra, Tony’s wife.”

Her eyes go wide, and she stammers, “W-wife? I had no idea. I’m so sorry.”

Her apology is appreciated but not needed.

I turn to my husband and try to remain calm. “How long have you been cheating on me, huh?”

Tony keeps his eyes trained on mine. He plasters on the most pathetic puppy dog eyes, but I couldn’t care less.

He speaks frantically, trying to get himself out of this mess. “Astra, I’m so sorry. She means nothing to me. She was just a way to pass the time.”

It finally sinks in.

My husband’s cheated on me, and now he’s hoping I’ll just let him slip into bed tonight.

No, there’s no way in fucking hell I’m going to let that happen.

I shake my head, tears streaming down my face. “Don’t ruin what you have on my account. I’m done with you, Tony, and I want a fucking divorce.”

I pause for a brief moment before looking at the woman he’s on a date with. “He’s all yours now, but I’ll guarantee he’ll do the same thing to you. You deserve better, and so do I.”

There’s no way in hell I was going to let this be another chapter in our twisted love story.

I shake my head, unable to meet the blonde woman’s eyes as she apologizes profusely.

She didn’t know he was married. Of course, she didn’t. How could she have?

She was just someone else caught up in Tony’s web of lies.

I should have seen the signs.

Early in our relationship, he had a bad habit for lying to me about stupid things, things that shouldn’t have mattered. It was a red flag I should have listened to.

My husband continues to look like a lost puppy, begging me to forgive him, but I won’t.

His betrayal cuts too deep, and all I can feel is disappointment and heartache.

I take a step back, my body trembling with the emotional pain I never thought I’d feel.

Honestly, I never thought he’d do something like this.

I know I should be angry as hell, but all I can feel is an overwhelming sense of sadness.
