Standing up, I answer her. “Not at all.”

I leave Amara’s office, head through the club, and make my way outside.

We have a cement block next to the gate, so I step up onto it and immediately recognize him.

I buzz him through and he comes in with his jacked up-truck and boxed trailer in tow behind him.

His bike is strapped down in the bed of his truck, and it damn sure looks like he’s brought everything he and his ol’ lady own.

Once he’s parked and they both get out of the truck, Zorro comes up to me.

He claps me on the shoulder, his grip firm and reassuring. “Man, what’s it been, years?”

I smirk back at him, my voice low and gravelly. “Something like that,”

Ruby steps forward, her blonde hair falling mid-way down her back.

She looks around the place, her eyes taking in the exterior of the clubhouse. “This is a lot nicer than I expected.”

I nod, “It’s not anything fancy, but it’ll get the job done. I’m Python, it’s nice to meet you.”

She offers me a soft worn-out smile. “It’s nice to meet you too.”

They’ve been traveling for a few days, so I’m sure they want nothing more than to settle in and rest their heads.

I head over to their truck with them and grab a couple of bags, knowing they’re staying the night here.

I’m not sure if Amara got them an apartment or house nearby yet or not, considering she doesn’t want couples in the club.

I think Razor and Oakleigh are the only exceptions, but it’s not my job to go digging into all that.

My only concern is myself.

We head down to Amara’s office to greet everyone, and I take my seat back inside.

Amara asks, her eyes darting between the two of them. “Hey, how was your drive?”

Zorro sighs, “Not too bad.”

Ruby playfully jabs him in the side with her elbow. “Long and exhausting.”

Amara nods in understanding. “Okay, why don’t you two head up and get some rest? I know it’s been a long couple of days for you.”

“What are y’all doin’ in here?” Zorro asks, looking between everyone. “Church?”

Amara shakes her head, “No, not a formal one. We’re just chatting about a couple of things.”

Razor speaks up, “One of us can fill you in tomorrow once you’re rested up.”

Oakleigh stands up, “I can take you both to your room,”

Zorro nods, “That sounds good. I’ll see y’all in the morning,”

Oakleigh walks out of the room and starts to head down the hall.

Zorro wraps an arm around Ruby and the two of them follow her.

They really do look exhausted.
