I was grilled about who Astra is to me, and I told Amara she’s my girlfriend.

Astra told that to Tony, and we made a spur of the moment decision, but I’m glad we did.

Even though it was hard to believe it at first, my roots are here in Chihuahua.

I don’t have any good excuses anymore on why I’m not with anyone, so I tethered myself to the first woman in my life who’s ever been able to captivate me.

My new tires for the bike finally arrived this morning after Tony slashed them last week.

I didn’t anticipate how long it would take for them to come in.

The guys and I even talked about patching them from the inside, but it wasn’t worth it.

He slashed them too much to make them safe to ride on again, and he’s lucky.

Tires are easily replaceable, but if he scratched my bike I’d take more time slowly killing him.

So far, all he’s been is a bully.

He still calls Astra, and we got her number changed a couple of days ago.

He hasn’t been able to get her new number, but anytime her phone goes off I see the immediate dread that crosses her face.

Ever since the night he called to torment her, she has reservations about leaving my side.

I can’t even blame her for it.

She’s terrified and she has every right to be.

We’ve gotten closer since she’s been living with me in the clubhouse, and I’m glad for it.

I don’t like the way it’s happening, but I’m glad we’re making some strides in our relationship.

I feel like I’ve come a long way from the brute who walked in her coffee shop that day.

“Hey, you hear me?” Zorro asks.

I turn and look over at him, distracted by my thoughts. “No, what’s up?”

Zorro glances over at Axel for a split second, almost like they’re worried about me. “You good? Like, your head seems somewhere else.”

“Just thinkin’ about Astra, this dumb shit with her husband.” I comment.

Axel coughs, “Okay, hold on a second. Do you mean ex-husband?”

I lick my lips and shake my head, “No. She never got a divorce. Instead, she fled the country and ran as far away as she could from him.”

Zorro inhales sharply, “She was abused then, from the sounds of it?”

I nod and use my impact to put my front tire back on my bike.

Thankfully, the garage has everything we need to pop the tires off rims and back on them, so we can do a lot of maintenance here.

I nod, not feeling like I need to give anymore information.

Zorro continues, “The club has dealt with our fair share of abusive exes. Take Harry into consideration,”

Harry.
