I can't help but feel a cold, gnawing dread settle in my gut.

It almost feels second nature, and I can’t explain why I’m feeling this way.

Maybe it’s all the mayhem, the chaos of this day finally adding up.

I can't shake the feeling that we’re teetering on the edge of disaster, and we’re going over the edge at any given moment.

Tony’s still out and on the prowl, and then add in the ongoing issues with Elias.

Both are threats right at our fingertips, and I’m only left guessing who will be the one who strikes first.

No matter how bleak things may seem, we’ll do whatever it takes to protect our own.

As we continue riding like bats out of hell, I pull myself back to the present.

My grip tightens on the handlebars, my knuckles turning white as we get closer to the coffee shop.

I know the second I see her I won’t feel nervous at all, but fuck I need to see her.

We pull up to the side of the building and go in through the back door, considering Astra closed the shop earlier.

The door’s unlocked, which immediately makes my heart sink into my stomach. “Something’s not right,” I murmur to Zorro and Doom.

The neon lights in the front windows of the cafe cast a sickly glow over the scene before me, and my stomach churns at the sight.

Astra sprawled out across a table, her arms and legs secured with rope.

Tony stands over her, his knife glinting in the dim light as he continues to carve into her flesh.

“Let go of her, you sick fuck!” I roar, my vision clouded by a red haze of rage.

Zorro and Doom flank me, their faces twisted with anger and disgust.

“Look who finally decided to show up,” Tony sneers, flicking the blood from his blade. “Guess I’ll have to finish this later.”

I growl, clenching my fists so tightly that my nails dig into my palms. “Over my dead body,”

I can feel the weight of the others' gazes on me, but all I can focus on is Astra.

God, he’s carved her like a pumpkin.

“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, Python,” Tony says, a twisted grin spreading across his face. “After all, I’ve got plenty more fun planned for my wife.”

“Touch her again and I’ll kill you,” I snarl, taking a step forward.

My heart pounds in my chest, each beat only surging the anger throughout my body even more.

“Easy now,” Tony warns, holding up his knife. “Don’t want to make any sudden moves, do we? I might accidentally slip,”

“Drop the goddamn knife, Tony!” Zorro barks, his eyes never leaving the weapon. “This isn’t going to end well for you.”

“Who are you to tell me how this will end? You’re nothing.” Tony snaps, his gaze shifting from Zorro to Astra and back again.

“Enough!” I shout, my voice cracking under the strain. “This ends here, Tony. You’re not gonna get away with hurting her anymore.”

Tony cackles sinisterly, “You’re not going to stop me,”

His eyes are locked on mine as he raises the knife once more.
