Our crew loaded everything under the jet for our convenience, knowing the rush we were in without the details of the dire nature to our hastened pace. Taking the few extra minutes we had, I stopped Tony before he boarded, kissing him stupid with all the passion I could muster. Once I finished claiming his lips, I knew the strangers in our area witnessed my public proclamation. I did this for a reason. We were done hiding, denying our love.

The plane's propellers were already up and running, creating a hum that sounded like our background music. Enjoying the surreal moment between us, I knew we both needed it, craved satisfying the part within us that begged to never hide who we truly were. As bisexual men in our world, we'd be deemed weak because we liked the same sex.

"We've lost more time than either of us can count because of our families. We will not lose another second. Damn your mother and damn your father right along with mine. They are not our family."

"And damn the table if they deny what's rightfully ours for it." Tony lustfully swept his tongue over his bottom lip. We knew our sexual urges from our wrath wouldn't be sated until Sunshine joined, so we'd let it build by slaying our enemies even more. Whipping out his gun, Tony quickly fired to my left, blowing a random man's brains out. Everyone stopped to pay attention, but I noticed the tic in his jaw. "His phone. Bring it to me, now!"

A bystander fixed their shock enough to do as ordered, seeing the gun still up and ready to fire. He knew to keep the cracked screen on, so his finger dragged up and down without moving what sat on the screen. He knew we'd watch his every flinch, so he wouldn't compromise our quest to save face. His shaking hand reached up to us on the steps to board the aircraft.

Sure enough, his judgment found sound reasoning. In an open text to Tony’s father, the man almost warned him of our coming time. Silly daddies forgot who we were as a team. He'd been ahead of us by using people close to our hearts, and I knew his wife had been an implant like Mario. Smirking, I could only laugh and shake my head at how deep his pockets ran in the form of others. We'd be cleaning house after this, but we had them to handle first.

"Should we say something else or let them know of our arrival?" Tony asked me what path we wanted.

"As much delight it would bring me to see him piss himself by seeing us nearly there, they're cowards. They'll attack fast, so we should give ourselves more time to protect Sunshine."

"You're right. We'll be spared even more satisfaction when they're shocked by our early arrival." Tony hurried to type his words, saying they'd just heard we were three hours out from arrival due to engine trouble. The fools wouldn't know we'd intercepted their plans with our own. Boarding the plane, we had enough men confiscating phones to make sure another mole hadn't been present. They'd message me personally if anything came up, so we left with the knowledge we finally had an edge on them. For once, we saw our own glimmer of hope.

Spending a few days back in America should have been comforting, but I only sensed the coming doom. Every instinct within me, combated within because something prowled too close, and I couldn't piece together how. The females hadn't noticed my tendencies to keep checking out the window while letting my eyes take in the perimeter for any threats, but Dr. Carmichael kept discerning. He tipped his chin to me in recognition of my earnest work because he knew I did this to protect his daughter.

The man had clearly not forgiven me for placing her in harm's way already, but he did admire my strategic advances when it came to guarding our safe spot now. With his own previous training, I felt we were more than qualified for whatever might come, but we also didn't know the number of men we'd have to stand against.

Millie and Kasey were up in her room having their quality time, and my mother rested because she wasn't used to the new time zone. In the early evening of the hour, it would be the middle of the night where we lived. Dr. Carmichael stood in the kitchen and prepped dinner once again, knowing we would have to wake my mother up for that. I didn't want her to fully adjust to the schedule here because I had every intention of making sure we were returned home in a proper time frame, but she did need a rest. Her body hadn't forgiven me for the toll of being a captive had on her.

Leaving the dining room window, I felt more at ease. It didn't last long because the second I let my guard down, shots began firing right outside. Ducking, I had been the one to position myself near a window, so I had to take the opportunity to get to a lower level where they wouldn't train their gun. Dr. Carmichael had done the same thing in the kitchen, turning the corner just enough to see me in his own squat.

Without having the proper mannerisms to learn safety drills, Millie and Kasey came galivanting down the damn stairs by the door. My eyes widened in fear once I saw them being so exposed and near the front door. “Get down!”

When both girls noted how we were positioned, they realized their error and quickly dove to land on the ground at the bottom of the stairs. On their bellies, they began army crawling towards us in order to get to the back of the house. With my mother still upstairs, Dr. Carmichael could read my panic.

“Take out anyone that comes in! And cover me,” he said right before grabbing a metal tray he used to serve food on and held it like a shield in front of him. The man bolted for the stairs and then moved the shield properly behind him just in case anything nicked him in the back. The girls came to where I squatted in the middle of the room as I flipped the coffee table over to hide behind better.

“What do we do?” Millie began to unravel. Kasey didn't show the same problem as her friend, but her eyes did survey the true nature of our problem.

“You both are going to head to the basement until help arrives.” Taking out my phone, I opened it and handed it to Millie right as I put Augustus's number on the screen. “Let him know who you are and tell him to send help. He knows what to do.”

Ever since we were faced with the realization Tony and Draven's dads had changed plans, we knew this might happen sooner than we thought. Just like they intended to attack immediately as a way to surprise our enemy, they were doing the same thing in our direction.

“Don't move until I tell you,” I warned the girls to stay hidden. The rapid fire would only last a certain degree before they tried invading in the home. “Be ready though.”

Millie nodded, dialing Augustus to get help faster. Removing the firearm from the back of my pants, I cocked and prepared it for fire. Instead of being met with an army pounding down the front door, I heard the sound of glass shattering behind the curtain right as a gas can fell in. They planned to toss tear gas at us to compromise our position even more, but I darted for the small bottle faster than my life depended on it. Millie made a nervous sound on my behalf as she watched me dive for the container that began to expel its contents. Just as the misty fog began to spew, I chucked it right back out the window while covering my face with my shirt.

During my return to where they were positioned, a shot nicked me right on the top of my shoulder. Grunting, I had enough adrenaline fueling me to help me persevere through it. The pain would only handicap me right now, so I couldn't allow it to hinder their safety. Shaking my head and diving back behind the coffee table, Millie began to panic as she noticed the blood beginning to spill. Luckily, it only grazed my shoulder, so I was more than adequate to survive what had happened.

“I'll be fine,” I promised her. Shaking her head and getting a little hysteric, it was almost like she didn't believe me.

“You've been shot!” Her hands quickly fumbled against the fabric of my shirt as more bullets rang through the home, striking objects all around us.

Removing her hands from me, I leaned forward and gave a chaste kiss to her lips. My bold move surprised her enough to shock her into holding still. “They’re about to invade, and I need you to be prepared to crawl as fast as possible away from this position. You get yourself in that basement, do you understand me?”

“But you. What about you?” Her eyes rimmed with tears, ready to fall on my behalf.

“I have been training for this my whole life.”

Dr. Carmichael chose that exact moment to bring my mother down the stairs in a fireman carry. He placed the silver in front of her to make sure she would be the one to survive if any bullet flung their way. I had to admire his tenacity and survival methods. Just like me, he would die protecting the females in our care. Just as they got to where we were in the rush, the bullets slowed down, a warning for me to know what was coming next.
