"Jesus, I'm sorry, Costas. I didn't realize you'd get hurt." My sorrow deepened for the things he often did for us.

"It's a few scratches, sir. I've had a lot worse from a simple training session." He smirked. "Now, let's get them moved. My shift starts in twenty minutes."

Of all the things that made me think about my life choices, it came from holding the small vial in my grasp. The needle would be shot directly into my heart, and Costas knew where I'd pocket the syringe to keep it hidden from the other guards. They couldn't know I had outside help to not start an immediate investigation. We needed them to believe their answer would be coming from an autopsy that would never happen.

Shaking out my legs, I looked around the area to see the clock bolted into the wall. Too tall to reach it, no one could touch the bulletproof glass that helped keep us away from using it as a weapon. Knowing it was now or never, I exhaled a sigh.

"Well, mother, this is either me sending a gentle kiss to you, or I'll be seeing you shortly." Jabbing the needle into my chest, I quickly pushed the fluid in and tucked the syringe into my underwear. As gross as it was, they wouldn't search there right away.

In a matter of minutes, I felt my eyes grow heavy just as my arms refused to lift. A rush of intoxication ran through me, but instead of feeling adrenaline, it felt like the sandman dumping his dust into my veins. Groaning, I had to fight the fog to get everything else ready. In order to stage this as a death and not me sleeping, I lulled my body forward and fell against the cement. The cool of it barely registered as I felt my body losing its power to live. Rapidly slowing, my heart barely beat.

Smiling to myself, I had a few moments like this when I did the hard drugs we sold as a foolish boy. Just like then, I hated the way it made me feel. No control could be had when something diluted one's thinking. After that thought, everything went blank.

Finding Draven on the ground made my heart skip a beat. Even though I knew he'd survive, a small bout of doubt crept into my mind. Taking in a deep breath, I knew I couldn't stand around long without the video capturing it. "I'm going to need some help down here! Bring a gurney!"

Using the key to get into the room, I opened the cell and rolled him onto his back. Seeing the gray tint in his skin did something to my inhuman side. A rage festered within me as I prepared to check his pulse. Sure enough, nothing could be felt with the drugs in his system.

The rest of the events felt like a blur as the medical staff entered to see what I had found. They listened to me declaring no pulse, having one check for a second opinion. Like I planned, nothing was there as they lifted the body to haul to the medical bay. Chaos ensued and maddening took over as they gathered the body of the most notorious mafia prince. They probably feared his people seeking revenge. I followed with lead in my feet, hating that I wouldn't know of his health until meeting Tony soon. My shift was almost complete, but it felt endless while also feeling like a rush because of how the people moved. The nurse then called for a retrieval of the body from the morgue. Relaxing a little, I heard Tony's voice come through the phone.

They prepped the body, discussing between themselves what they thought the possibilities might be. They had no idea a syringe sat in his underwear that Tony would remove. I knew Draven thought it would be me, but I had to stay clean for the rest of my shift just in case they asked me questions. Always be prepared for the implausible.

Pushing the body outside when the van arrived, I saw Tony wearing the proper uniform. I handed off the body and signed the proper paperwork with a nurse watching from the door. Tony took the gurney and had me help him push it into the back of the van, He'd covered the women with supplies, so she'd never know three bodies took up the space.

Leaving him to it, I knew this was it. We'd gotten Draven out of prison. Now, I just had to finish my shift.

Groggy, I let out a tepid groan. It felt like my body didn't know how to make the sound anymore. In fact, my body didn't know how to move at all as my limbs were combatting their natural wiring. Slowly trickling with blood again, the liquid within me had to learn to pump as I tried to figure out how to open my eyes.

When I did, I wanted to let out a screech as a shadow emerged above me, hidden under a light. His hands were up like he prepared to end me here and now. Panic made my breathing pick up as I blinked several more times to see what weapon I might be up against. Luckily, the man moved to the side just enough for me to see the empty syringe in his grip, and Tony's fearful eyes doted over every inch of me, terrified I might not wake up. No words could describe seeing my love's ease when he saw my conscience stir.

Tossing the elixir to the side, he fell on top of me, gripping onto my middle like he could merge us into one. With my limbs asleep, I fought the tingling sensation to lift my right arm. It didn't grip him the way I wanted to, but my touch told him how joyous this moment was for me too. Mumbles left my lips, spewing nothing but gibberish, but my partner understood what my thoughts wished to convey.

"I've missed you too, Dray." Tony pecked every inch of my face with his tender lips before using a deliberately slow approach to consume my mouth. If my dick could gain more flow, he'd already be hard for my love.

With every passing minute, I gained more movement and began meeting Tony's unbridged unification. My body urged for us to come alive to feel this moment more. Maybe it was because he got my blood pumping, or maybe this was the natural unravel of nearly dying, but he gave life to my lead body. The fluency of his love began to balance the unharmonious reactions within my own veins.

Soon, I found myself flipping him over. He went willingly, being my submissive, needing his master to relish over his desires. My eyes tracked how his body lifted his hips to allow me access to his yearning. For months, we couldn't touch. For months, I wasn't able to love my partner. Today, I had every intention of rectifying that. He would remember who he belonged to.

Just as my hands lifted his tucked in medical shirt from his slacks, the back doors of the van opened. Costas stood there and gave us both a pointed look. "Seriously? Can't you wait until we've left? You're a fugitive, Draven, and the girls are right next to you."

Just like that, I finally took in the fact that we were on a gurney in the back of a van. Though, I didn't see the women we collected to run. Costas revealed their hiding place for me to see they were hidden under medical supplies on the side. They must've thought about if someone else helped haul my body out of the prison to not show we had two more bodies in the back.

Soon enough, the prison would call the morgue for an autopsy report, and they'd have no idea because the call never made it to them. It would tip them off I wasn't dead, and the hunt for me would begin. Of course, this would take a few days to relay, but I needed to be out of this country and in my own. Local law wouldn't try to come near me because my army was greater than theirs.

"Tony, grab Millie. Draven, grab the cat. I'll carry the friend." Costas knew I wouldn't be able to handle a large body right now. My own still had to stave off the drugs even with the adrenaline helping me. My grip took two hands on the carrier because my fingers still tingled with weakness.

Tony held Millie like the most delicate thing in the world. She had a few scrapes from what I could see, but I knew she probably fought Costas in her kidnapping. It made me proud. Kissing her forehead, I inhaled her honey scent just like I had Tony's ocean breeze. "Welcome to your new forever, Sunshine."
