"They’re good for you right now, but I'll let you know if it ever changes." Toasting to that, she raised the bottle to her lips and chugged. Handing it to me, I did the same for the first time in a long time. Drunkenness had never been my idea of fun, but it felt nice to let the tingling set in.

"Speaking of honesty, when I talked to Draven's sister, I mentioned a little about your past to get her to come to you if she needs to. I know it wasn't my place, but-"

Kasey held up a hand to quiet me. "I trust your call, Mills. If she ever comes to me, I'll taper my hardass side to be real, but thanks for the warning. I did find it interesting she came down for dinner last night. Now it makes more sense. She found your fixer upper personality."

"If only I could take away the memory for her to feel whole." Kasey worked open a third bottle even though we weren't finished with the second one. Shaking her head, she handed me the mostly gone one before diving into her own bottle. At this point, we weren't even sampling the exquisite flavor, wasting the luxury bottles for our own gain. When I sobered later, I knew I'd feel more guilt over it, but the numbness setting in called for me to keep sipping.

"Nah. As much as it sucks, this battle of hers will make her remember the realness of the world. Most men live in an archaic mindset that woman are theirs to pillage and plunder. Those who don't get touched by such toxic behaviors are very few."

"But I didn't." My brows pulled together.

"But haven't they touched you?" She eyed me like I missed something vital in my own life. "What traits did you hate in your relationship?"

Sitting back, I thought about it. Tim knew my hard no’s, but he chose to do the things anyway. He knew it hurt me, but he never stopped and did more in secret. He hurt me emotionally and on a deeper level, fucked me up. Holding up my bottle, I raised it for her to clink against. "Holy shit, Kase. You're right."

She lifted with me and nodded. "Welcome to the world of sexual trauma. No woman has escaped unscathed in the world of man."

Chaos ensued, creating a beautiful contrast of orange flames against the midnight sky. Smoke covered our steps and filled our lungs as a reminder we weren't done with our task. The hunt felt exhilarating as we penetrated Gustav's defenses. He couldn't have known we were coming but he somehow managed to have an elite force waiting for us. Tony and I moved with our bulletproof vests and automatics, blasting our way in with a few grenade tosses along our path. Our men were equipped and ready, blowing the others to smithereens.

Even with how prepared Gustav was, he wouldn't know our numbers. Someone tipped him off, telling us our mole sat higher in ranks than we wanted to think about. Right now, we'd finish the man who hurt my sister.

Kicking down his door, we found more men waiting inside. One fired, striking my abdomen. It hurt like the dickens, but I had armor on to protect me. Sometimes, Tony and I felt foolish in our gear, but we wouldn't stop being safe for us to return home, together.

The man in question sat in the back, hiding behind his men that protected his lazy ass. With one more grenade, I let it roll on the tiled ground, knowing it would ruin the white coloring with its explosion. Most tried to dip and dodge the blast, but it took out majority of his men. With the line clear to Gustav, a small group formed around him, moving him to a different room.

"Don't they know running just adds more thrill?" Tony chuckled darkly.

"I think they want to play hide and seek," I hummed my own amusement.

"Well, then." Tony stepped ahead to lead this round. As he turned into the small room, he walked through the blaze of corpses as some of the living men tried to put out the flames on their own bodies. None attempted to stop us, seeing who held all the power. "Come out, come out wherever you are!"

Following his holler, I couldn't deny how attractive I found him while on a murderous spree. Only time would tell if Sunshine could love us the same way we did each other in these moments.

The broken floor crunched below my boots. Glass joined it from the nearby windows that also blew. One of the men didn't fare well as a shard of glass jutted out from the side of his neck. He held it in place, but his blood kept pulsing around the object piercing his jugular. Having a small bit of compassion for the hired help, I raised the tip of my gun and blew his brains out to minimize his suffering faster. While he thought he could survive, I knew he'd only draw out his death. That specific spot wasn't one many came back from after ripping it wide open.

Once in the other room with Tony and the men, I found them searching high and low for Gustav. They couldn't have gone anywhere besides somewhere in this room, so we were searching for a hiding spot or a secret tunnel of sorts. I had no doubt the idiot had a panic room because he knew this day would come from his poor choices.

"Tony, what item would you use to unlock a secret chamber?" Turning it into a game, my lover looked around the room, loving the mystery aspect I added to our hunt.

"I don't know. There's a few books, but does he value those to utilize their worthy purpose?" Tony commented.

"A few landscape paintings, but do they symbolize something he loves outside his home?" I glanced over all the generic pieces.

"He's a man of few loves," Tony countered.

"He has three sons, but does he love them more than his wealth or penis?" My eyes kept tracking what might lead us to the culprit behind my sister's leaked video.

"I think he loves himself the most." Tony tapped the barrel of his gun against the bust of Gustav's face. It sat on his desk like the man loved his double chin and missing hair. "Narcissus has some stiff competition."

Lifting it, the bust moved forward, revealing a secret panel on the wall. Instead of being generous and opening the door to kill them faster, I wanted to hold out and do something that would really teach this man a lesson. Knocking on the door, I waved my technician forward for him to open the control panel off the wall. He’d been trained by Costas himself, so I knew I could trust his work.

"Leave, De Luca! I'm not coming out!" Gustav acted strong.

"You don't want to come out, huh?" I worded carefully. Bending down to where the wires were, I whispered quietly to my guy to destroy the one that would allow the door to open. His face morphed into miserable pleasure, understanding what I planned to do.
