When I made it up the stairs, I already found Kasey eating the cheese platter the maids put out a while ago. With her mouth full, she gave me a saucy grin. "Well, damn! She managed to snag three motherfuckers."

"Excuse me?" I wondered if I understood her right.

She pointed to how I held Millie with one hand supporting her rear and the other wrapped around her back to hold her against me. "You can act stupid all you want, but that's a pretty tender way to carry a woman who's dating your boss."

"I don't know what you're talking about," I murmured, leaving her to eat as I took the passed out one to her bed.

"Sure. Just like I don't know Millie never lets people hold or carry her, and I don't know she panics with people she doesn't trust while drunk. Weird how she's settled in with you."

"Leave it alone, Kasey. She is dating my boss after all."

"It can be our little secret, Costas." With that, she began drinking her bottle of wine with more cheese and crackers shoved into her mouth. I think she missed the point of my words for her to sober up, but I needed to get away from her knowing stare.

Millie

Costas woke me up with an hour to prepare and Kasey handed me a shot to ease the tension inside my head. We were gearing up to leave for a neighboring villa which felt odd, and it made me wonder if Costas was trying to whisk us away to forget about the mean girl coming with us. I didn't know what to expect, but I found a dress laid out on the bed for me to wear. My bleary eyes could barely take in the beauty after I passed out so hard from drinking. My shower hadn't helped like I had hoped it would, and we had a long evening ahead of us.

Sluggish, my body hadn't quite come back online as I traveled to the foot of my bed to gather the simple fabric. The color was a gold, shimmering from whatever texture created it. Mesmerized, I almost missed Kasey sitting at the desk across from it.

"He has fucking perfect taste. The rat bastard has to be gay. Maybe that's why he keeps refusing my advances." Kasey tapped her chin like it all made sense.

"Did Costas pick this?"

"Duh!" She rolled her eyes. "He snagged this one for me too. How he does it, I don't know, but the man has too good of taste to be straight."

Smiling, it faltered a little when I heard he picked her plum shade. Kasey's was more revealing than mine, showing off her ample bosom. It was like he wanted her body showcased instead of mine, but I wasn't sure why I cared so much.

"And don't worry, you look perfect... just add a smidge more concealer." She pinched her fingers together.

Giving her a look, I moved into my bathroom and put the dress on that wouldn't allow a bra. Still, the fabric fell in a lovely way to show off my smaller frame and slender curves as my hair braided back into a bun at the nape of my neck. Braiding went faster than curling, and I ran short on time. Plus, braids had a certain elegance to them that was often overlooked.

Adding some concealer on, I only did it for Mrs. Russi not to say anything. The woman was a madhouse, and she had too much reign to silence. Leaving the bathroom, I found Kasey standing at my door with Costas on the other side. His eyes followed the length of my body with an appreciation he quickly righted. It made me hold my breath.

"Are you two ready?" he asked.

"Yup." Kasey reached back and grabbed my arm just as I snatched my shoes from the bed. At least he went with a small heel because I wasn't like my curvy friend who used them to bounce her ass even more than normal.

We went down the stairs in a haste I hadn't expected. "The faster we do this, the faster we get away from the evil woman."

"True," I agreed.

"Actually, you'll be staying in a small cottage in the town were going to." Costas made us freeze at the bottom as he slowly moved down the stairs. His hands were tucked into his pockets as he readied for the night. A tenseness took over his shoulders, letting us know he wasn't excited either. My mind remembered I had gone to find Kasey to tell her that part, but we got lost in the wine. "If you want my advice, turn it into a drinking game. Every time Mrs. Russi insults you, drink."

"But I just sobered up," I hissed.

"Do you really want to be sober for a night out with that woman?" Kasey let me brace on her arm to slip my shoes on as she whispered.

Before I could respond, the woman in question came from the dining area. "Oh good, at least you can get ready on time." Eyeing me as I straightened my dress, she raised one eyebrow. "Though, you're not doing much to imply you're more than a whore."

Costas opened the door her, not being thanked. Giving me a look, I knew I'd need to be drunk to get through this. A staff member walked by, carrying mine and Kasey's duffel bags and another person was behind her with three bags for Mrs. Russi. Leaning into Kasey’s side, I felt bad for the weight of it. "We're only going for one night, right?"

"The posh bitch likes to make people miserable, Mills. I bet she filled one of those bags with bricks on purpose." Dragging me out, I noticed Sophia getting into a different car than ours.

Costas noticed my interest. "She's coming to the villa too, but she's heading straight to the cottage."

"Oh, I wish she'd come to dinner."
