"One of our rivals targeted Tony a few years ago. A pipe bomb had been tossed next to him while he walked the street in his hometown. Once I saw the bomb, I didn't think twice. I'd been trained since a young teen to defend Tony, so I did. Keeping him safe, I got right in front of him and pushed him down to avoid the pain. That was the day his father decided I was worthy enough to work in the higher ranks of their home."

"And Mario?" I asked, knowing the name in passing. "Was he okay with you getting hurt."

"He checked on me and helped me recover more than anyone else. I could tell it bothered him I'd been hurt, but he knew dying to save Tony had been my choice. I just lived to feel my consequence." Quickly placing his shirt on, he didn't want me to see more.

"I think they tell a beautiful story. You're an incredible person, Costas. Thank you for keeping everyone so safe."

"You're welcome." He shifted uncomfortably. Clearing his throat, he looked back at the house. "Your skin is turning pink. You should probably head back inside before you burn too much."

Nodding my head, I knew that was the end of his comfort level, and I'd be more than okay ending our conversation there. After such a heavy talk, I needed to go to the one place that might bring me peace. Taking a seat before the mural Tony painted me, I turned on the windy music and leaves blowing the breeze.

"He's boring me," Draven sighed beside me. "If only we could make him hurry up."

"You tire too fast." Patting his thigh, I kept it playful. "Enjoy the chase, Dray."

"I am," he chuckled. "I'm just..."

"Missing a certain blonde?" I lifted one eyebrow.

"Like I've only ever missed you," he confessed under his breath for me to hear.

"Have you given our future much thought?" I returned. "Like when we'll go public?"

"I give it too much thought. Maybe when you take over for your father? I don't want him holding me against you."

"Yeah, I've wondered if I need to take a more direct approach to the powers settling in. Maybe we need to declare our reigns before going public, but people might grow upset about us holding two chairs."

"We'll never be married," he reminded me. "They can kiss our ass, but we'll still be two bloodlines and two separate houses in those seats."

"I never thought about us never being one," I admitted. "I guess I always thought we'd merge, but you're right. We can't wed three people."

"I don't need a certificate to tell me that I love you, Tony." He took my hand between us for the others not to see. They wandered around to search the house. "But if the day comes you want a ceremony to hear me declare it undying, I will."

"I'd like that, and when Emilia is ready, I think she would too."

"She does seem like someone who'd pretend to be fine about not wanting a ceremony, but she'd light up the most during it." Draven tried to hide a smile.

"She'll never ask, but we should provide."

"So when we get back, we should focus on dating her. We should make our time together a priority and in between the chaos, work."

"I'd like that. Emilia deserves to go on a real date with us. Well, a date she's actually aware she's on," I snickered. "Maybe a stroll through the square and we show her our favorite places?"

"Show her what we love?" Draven lit up. "I'd like that."

"I don't think Gustav plans to talk." My head swung back against the door between us and the villain. "What would you say to just opening it and blowing his brains out to get back to our girl?"

"I'd say this is why we're a team." Draven stood up, waving the tech over who wore his headphones and typed away until seeing my hand. He knew the drill and got the operating system up and going for us to gain access again. This time, when the door opened, Draven didn't speak or let our prisoner open his lips. He just put a bullet between his eyes as mine found the urine in the corner he'd been pissing in, refusing to leave. At least he struggled for a day before we killed him.

Holding my knees to my chest, I felt like crying while sitting on the bench. Some of it had been from the guilt I latched onto because I felt like I'd been getting too close to Costas. He'd been the one who consistently stood by me, but I had feelings for Draven and Tony too.
