"Oh, Mom, what the hell do I do?" I murmured into the scenic picture like it would hold the answers. At least I had this spot. Tony gave me something I needed more than anything, my mother. It only hurt my soul more as I contemplated what to do next. Should I ignore what I felt and pretend his amazingness would be for someone else? What about the surge of jealousy I thought of when it came to picturing him with anyone else?

Wiping my tears, I did the only thing I could. I called my dad. In the place I thought of my mother the most, I called him. The connection felt stable and comfortable. Plus, my father would have sound advice.

"Hey kiddo! How's that vacation?"

"Dad, how did you know Mom was the one?" I bit my lip, hiding I had been crying.

"What brought this question up?" he laughed.

"Me having feelings for three people I shouldn't," I admitted.

"Well, if any of them are Tim, X him off the list," he growled. "That boy has done nothing but cause problems here. He keeps ranting that you were kidnapped and won't believe me that I talk to you nearly every day."

"He's probably just mad I broke up with him, but he's not on my list." That felt weird to admit as well. I didn't hold any feelings for him now that I was far enough away from him to see how much better life could be. "I've met three amazing men over here, but I know it's wrong to lead them on. And one doesn't know I have feelings. He's just there for me when I least expect it."

"And the other two?"

"They listen and hear me. They do things for me I never expect just because they thought of me. They're always more worried about my feelings than their own."

"Wow," he whistled. "Sounds like I might actually like these three guys."

"Dad," I groaned.

"Sweetie, there's no science to it. Your gut just says this one, and you'll hear it when you're alone. When you have something exciting to share, they'll be the first you'll want to tell. If you think about tomorrow, who isn't there?"

Closing my eyes, didn't know. He could hear my answer in the silence.

"Sometimes, you just have to keep dating until you feel it, honey. Just be open about how you feel, and the rest will fall into place when it's meant to."

"Thanks, Dad," I sighed.

"That's what I'm here for, and I'm glad you feel comfortable calling me."

"I love you."

"And I you, sweetie. Just keep having fun. You don't need to land a man so fast after dropping the last one." We hung up, on that, and I found myself smiling again.

As for my feelings for Costas, I decided there was no rush to announce that I had them. I'd date the two I came here for, and if I kept having more thoughts about the guard, I'd talk about it. Nothing felt pressing right now, so I just relaxed and thought of my mother in the spot Tony made for me.

On a typical day, I never enjoyed coming home, but this felt different. A giddiness overcame me as we traveled back our home in my country. Tony's leg bounced just as much as mine, feeling the urgency I did. We would've taken longer to kill Gustav had we not had a lovely woman waiting for our return. We were coming home to something, and that made everything different.

"How do you think she faired in our absence?" Tony asked.

"From what Costas reported, she and your mother do not get along, but she got drunk with Kasey and drank a freight train of wine from the cellar."

"That didn't really answer my question and makes me feel slightly worse for wear." He shifted uncomfortably as we entered my estate with the gates opening upon our return. "I've never met anyone my mother likes or treats like she likes. I'd hoped Emilia's magic could change that, but my mother is..."

"Too far gone, hardened by our world of corruption and illicit fornication," I finished. Tony's father, like my own, held no weight or merit in our bettering stances. His mother suffered like mine, but she chose to let it freeze her heart to survive.

"That's one way to put it. I also hope those qualities never find Emilia. She's too good to be destroyed so easily."

"We won't allow it. Her light is what keeps us going for a better tomorrow. Sunshine will never know the darkness of our lives with how safe we'll keep her."

"Speaking of our little delight." Tony stopped speaking and pointed out the window for us to see her running our way in order to greet us. Her excitement could never be matched as she waited eagerly to make sure we were okay. Costas would've told her we were fine, but she wouldn't believe it until she saw us for herself.
