My men stepped back as we came forward from the back, revealing his older brother's corpse lying at his feet. Rocco kept staring at Kasey like he'd never seen a woman so beautiful. She wore her see-through robe over a silk camisole in her heels. The woman had been growing too used to her cushioned life, but I enjoyed seeing her face at ease because she didn't have to work herself to the bone.

"Rocco," I said again to gain his attention back from eye-fucking my woman's best friend.

He shook his head and refocused. "Forgive me, Draven. I was not prepared to see such a beautiful creature in your home."

"And I wasn't prepared for a hot guy to drop a corpse off first thing in the morning before I’ve had a coffee," Kasey bantered with a saucy purr. "Looks like we're both getting a wakeup call."

"Your brother?" I asked, meeting him closer with Tony at my side.

"He was working with my father. My apologies for what they've done against your houses. In honor of our code and maintaining our alliance, I killed my mole to prove the loyalty of my seat to the families."

"You killed your brother," Tony corrected.

"Yes, Tony. Ralphie revealed to me last night what he helped our father do. In his act against you, I claimed justice for your sister, so I am hoping you can see that enough to not finish off the rest of my house and allow me to take up the chair. In killing my older brother, I've now claimed the seat and bring the proof of it."

Millie gagged, running to the kitchen. She thought her books were romantic until Tony gave her a finger bouquet of the man who tried to touch her at the sex party. She then learned the mind painted a prettier picture of the sweet sentiment. While appreciated, she learned the smell hadn't been for her. Like right now, this man had been dead for a full night, and she could smell the rot already.

Rocco studied her response before seeing how Kasey might react to it. She waved him off as one of the maids brought her a new wine for the one she broke. "I worked in a place that hid bodies all the time. Ever snort coke off a man's cock as his head was getting blown off?"

When none of us knew how to respond, she snorted and laughed.

"It's quite the trip.” Her eyes looked over her shoulder to make sure Millie didn't hear before turning back to give us all her menacing glare. "No one mention that shit to Mills. She gets to stay innocent in all this."

"You are..." Rocco couldn't finish his thoughts, mesmerized by our guest.

"One of a kind." Sipping her wine, she winked.

"Rocco, this is Kasey, Millie's best friend. Millie is our lover." I pointed between Tony and I.

"Ah, I see." Stepping her way, he handed her a business card. "Maybe we'll have to get together and learn more about this business you've been in."

"Just make sure you have some wine." She slipped the card into her bra.

"And a lock on your wine cellar," I mused. Kasey gave me the deadliest glare of my life, but it only made my comment worth it.

Rocco shook his head again like he couldn't think straight because of Kasey's beauty. "I have some information I learned while my brother's lips were loose. I think it'll be imperative you learn it, but I want a truce settled between us first."

"Loose lips?" Kasey scanned the dead. "His lips are missing."

"Sometimes, we have to do things that loosen the lips." He shrugged. "After slipping just enough to brag while having dinner with me, he forgot I've been the one working with our guards. It wasn't hard to convince them to swear their allegiance to the one who cared about their hours and pay. We took him into the basement of our family home, and his heart never beat somewhere else after."

"Did you do it yourself or have someone do it for you to keep your hands clean?" Kasey asked a weird question.

Rocco lifted his hands to show some blood sat under his nails still and on his shirt. "I do my own work, just like these two."

"Impressive," she hummed her approval like his work sat superior to ours.

"Seriously?" I huffed in agitation. Kasey would be the one woman who sent me over the edge.

"Sorry, big guy, but you're claimed." Kasey closed the distance between her and Rocco, placing her hand along his shoulders. "Now this one is some fresh and fine meat. He walked in with a corpse to prove his loyalty."

"To a cause you know nothing about," I argued.

"De Luca, when are you ever going to learn I listen?" Tapping her ears, she turned her Cheshire grin toward Rocco. "My past as a stripper somehow marked me less than capable, but I know how good I am."

The innuendo ricocheted into our ears. Losing my patience, I shared a look with Costas. "Can you handle the body removal? Take pictures for the other families to know Rocco has claimed the seat. We're going to draw up a truce and learn what he needs to tell us."

"And my job will be making sure my bestie lost her cookies in the sink and not the floor." Kasey waved in her exit, swinging her hips with a little more gusto, knowing Rocco watched her.
