"Now that is a woman."

"More like a nightmare," Costas muttered for me to hear. Covering my laugh with a cough, I guided Rocco back to my office.

Our truce didn't take long to draw up once he showed more proof to being on our side. Rocco disclosed to us his brother's phone with the conversations between his brother and father over the video. That's when I read my father's name, and he knew that would pique my interest the most.

"He's working with them. My only problem is, I haven't found who else. My father was and Alexander's family, but they've been destroyed."

"Would it have been possible for your brother to have come here the night I killed your father?" I asked, sitting on my desk as the news sank in my father was okay letting his daughter be raped. According to the messages, they knew to use her against me because she stood as the one thing I cared about. They had no idea about Tony and Millie, so I had to keep it that way before they tried striking there too.

Rocco shook his head in response to the question. "We were on our own mission to settle a debt in Germany."

Sighing heavily, I didn't know where that left us. "Your information helps prove my father is a lying piece of scum, but it doesn't help with who might be leaking my information and movements to him. And we're no closer to figuring out who came here when Costas removed Millie and Kasey from the compound."

"Someone attacked while you were away?" Rocco kept his hands in his pockets. We knew no threat sat in them because he'd been inspected to ensure our safety. Costas wouldn't let anything slip, so he made Rocco agree to a search. He understood the protective nature of our head of security.

"Yes, and we kept it hush with our plans, so it didn't travel far to be reached." Tony held his chin, rubbing the bottom scruff he hadn't shaved yet.

"So it's someone closer to you," he clicked the clues together.

"That's where we're at, but we still don't have a name. Plus, we don't know who else could've intruded because your family is accounted for, and Alexander's family was slaughtered by Costas. It has to be a hitman, or another family involved in wanting to take out the heirs or our family seats."

"Your father was never too happy you took over," Rocco agreed, knowing the history.

"And mine pretends he's still doing God's work for the families even though it’s me," Tony exhaled.

"So what do you need from me?" Rocco asked.

I shared one look with Tony because now felt like the time to seek some aid. He dipped his chin in agreement. Turning my attention back to the rogue son now in power, we needed help. "We received an invitation from Carlo to a gala next weekend my father planned to host behind my back. Perhaps it's meant to be where my father plans to reveal his big plan. Word has passed through several ears he'll be in attendance, and I'm starting to realize that wasn't by accident. He wants me there, so I need to go."

"But it could be a trap," Rocco came to the same conclusion we did.

"I'll be taking Tony and Costas with me, but it would be rather helpful to have you here to watch over my home. We plan to tell no one and will sneak out for the party."

"It'll keep them guessing long enough to not plan an attack against your house. But won't people grow suspicious if I arrive the same night?" Rocco made a good point.

Tony tapped his chin as a light went off within his beautiful mind. "But what if you never left? What if, with the spiraling news of your family's betrayal, you spread the word you're seeking refuge here? Building better ties to show loyalty to the table? It might put down the firm belief we aren't alone too."

"So a guest, in looser terms," I simplified his idea. "You'd stay here, and they won't question it because of the powerplays being exchanged."

"It could work," he entertained the idea. "I'll need to run a few errands in secret this week, but I can make it work."

"Good. Then it's settled. Our three seats stand united, and I'll call Augustus in the states to see what he's heard. He and Carlo swore their allegiance to Tony already." I moved to my phone, but Tony covered it.

"While Augustus has never been anything but good to us, I think we need to keep this information close for a bit, my friend."

"I agree." Rocco rolled his shoulders back. "Why don't I go run my errands, and you two can make a better secret plan for what I'll need to be prepared for next weekend."

"Thank you for this." Emilia dimmed her laughter during our conversation and took a sip of her tea.

"For the electric kettle? Of course! I couldn't believe I didn't think about it until after our last coffee date we shared when Draven was away." Pouring some more from the kettle, I let it cover the tea bag I added for my personal pleasure with a spoon of honey and one sugar cube.

"No." She shook her head. "Well, that too, but I meant making time for me to have our coffee dates again. I'd never say this to you then, but I kind of kept wishing you'd show up back before you kidnapped me."
