“For Christ’s sake, Alex. What are you up to?”
A smile lifted my lips. Alex was always up to something. I listened to Jamie’s side of the conversation until he said, “Yeah, I’ll email you the info in a few days. Just… behave.”
He sighed and shook his head, and I knew that Alex responded with something crazy.
When he hung up, I asked, “Is Alex okay?” I hoped he was. I liked him. I liked all of Jamie’s friends.
“He’s fine. I’m just suspicious about what shenanigans he’s up to this time. But never mind that…” He threw his phone onto a chair and lifted me into his arms. “Right now, I need to focus on much more important matters.”
Wrapping my legs around his waist, I grinned. “What’s that?”
“Making love to my woman.”
I smiled as he laid me down and kissed me passionately. As usual, we got completely lost in each other.
