"Did we just do that job for free?" Eli asked once we were seated.
"Maybe," I shrugged, "We don't need the money and once they have the place going, maybe they’ll comp us a night."
"I, for one, don't want to stay in a haunted hotel," Eli said with an eye roll.
"That's fair," I tell him, "I'm just glad that we could help free the living and dead from Lucy. That is a reward in itself."
"You're too cute to argue with," he remarked as the waitress came up to our table. She is an older lady but there is a bounce in her step and a smile on her face.
"What can I get ya?" she asked as I did a quick glance over the menu.
"Oh, I can't decide. Is there anything that you recommend?" I questioned.
"Oh, my Marv loved the breakfast platter," she answered with a fond smile. Just then a little old man spirit peeked over her shoulder and gave me a wink.
