“I’m fine,” I say, letting out a calming breath. “The killer showed himself more in my nightmare and he was using arrows. Like hunting arrows. There are only three shops in the county but I’m not a cop or a true hacker, there’s no way to know who actually buys them. Locals might gossip but that’s the best we can hope for.”

Now, at least there is understanding on her face.

“So, we need to go into town dressed in camouflage and pretending to be hunters?” she jokes as she goes for the coffee pot.

“Actually… that’s not a bad idea.”

“Can you really see me fitting in with this blue hair?” Raven questions him with a playful hit.

“I, for one, think you’d make it look hot,” Eli pops in.

Raven jumps a little at his voice before turning to him, “It's about time you woke up.”

“I was having this trippy dream, some weird guy was telling me to run. I can't really remember it all but I was freaked the fuck out,” he says as he sits up.

Raven glances at me and back to Eli. “You two had the same dream?”

Confusion crosses Eli’s face, “What? We did?”

“Yes, I was just telling Raven about it and we decided we needed to head to town and poke around. In my dream, the crazy guy was using arrows,” I tell him as I stretch a little.

“That’s freaky, dude,” is all he says before he stands. “Let’s get Lucien up and head into town. I bet they have a cute little diner that has a great breakfast. Or at least cheap.”

Raven rolls her eyes, “We just told you that you and Jayce had the same nightmare and you’re all ‘cool, let’s eat?’ Sometimes, I don’t get you.”

He smirks with a shrug, “We were going into town anyway. And I work much better after a good meal.”

Lucien rolls over and adds, “Diners are usually the best place to hear the town gossip. That or the salon. At least they were in my day.”

I place a hand on his shoulder, “Dude, make sure you don’t say that when we go to town. We are gonna stick out just because we are new in town, but you talking like an old man will not help matters.”

“I will do my best,” he says with a little frown.

“Well, get your asses up and get dressed,” Raven says with a smile.

“If you want to see us undressed, you only have to ask, my love,” Eli states as he pulls his shirt over his head before he replaces it. “Did I bring a change of clothes?”

“I did that for you, silly,” Raven says as she gets up and digs through a backpack she brought. She does a victory dance and hands a bundle of fabric to Eli.

He pulls on the shirt. “Well, this isn’t camo but it will have to do.”

“I don’t think any of us own anything camo,” I state as I grab my clean clothes.

This gets a laugh from everyone but no one disagrees.

“Well, I’m sure we can change that today,” Lucien says with a yawn. “Coffee first.”

We may not have a lot in common, Lucien and I, but coffee is one thing we can agree on.

“There has to be something decent to eat in town, right?” Lucien asks. “How have we done no research on what this town has to offer?”

“We’ve been a little preoccupied,” I pointed out.

“If there’s nothing good, they’ll at least have a gas station. Wouldn’t be the best coffee but it would work,” Raven tells him. “Plus, donuts. A solid second choice.” There’s never enough coffee for this girl.

“Anything is better than nothing at this point,” he says as he starts to change.

I stand and stretch, “Gimme five and I’ll be ready.”
