The next morning for Carter and McKenna was spent with lazy intent. They had breakfast, sex in the shower, and finally dressed by late afternoon but only because Carter said they had somewhere to be.
He wouldn’t give McKenna any details, typical for their dates, but she trusted him so she didn’t complain. When he pulled up at the Cinema Plex, McKenna began to get curious. There weren’t any recent movies out that she was interested in seeing which Carter was aware of because they’d discussed the topic recently. When they were escorted to a completely empty theatre she was even more confused as Carter directed her to seating in the center.
“We’re watching a movie?”
“We are.”
“Something you wanted to see?” She glanced around and he shook his head, getting comfortable in one of the massive reclining seats and guiding McKenna into his lap.
“Nah, I’m just tagging along. This is your shit. Today’s your day.”
“My day?”
He nodded just as an attendant entered the theatre and made her way to the aisle where Carter and McKenna were seated.
“Mr. and Mrs. Reed, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. We have four movies for your viewing pleasure. Mr. Reed set up the programming and a menu as well. We’ll be bringing out your favorite snacks in just a minute. Before we get started, do you have any questions?”
McKenna frowned, turning her attention to Carter who responded, “Nah, we’re good. Do your thing.”
