I groan, the beeping noise really annoying me.

This is just another stupid way for Dexter to get me to sign the paperwork.

I slowly open my eyes, squeezing them tightly at the dizziness as a rustle hits my ears, making me freeze in panic, wondering what else he could do to me. A voice hits my ears, and my memory of Jayden's eyes hitting me in that room returns, and I remember I'd been found.

"You're alright, Vi, you're safe…."

I sob as I open my eyes, meeting Snake's deep blue ones as he grabs my hand gently. My gaze move around the room, noticing it's like a hospital ward, but the metal walls prove it's not.

"We couldn't take you to the hospital, darling," Snake states, noticing my eyes roaming. I look at him as he speaks. "Too many questions. You're at the club."

I nod slightly as I stutter, "J-Jay-Jayden…."

He gives me a sad smile as he gently sits on the edge of my bed and explains, "Breaker and Sniper dragged him out of the room about an hour ago. He's hitting the punching bag. Scarlett and Sniper are watching him. I volunteered to stay with you…. Well, more like fought your father and mother-in-law to stay with you."

I nod slightly, grateful, and ask, "D-Dex…."

Snake’s jaw ticks, and he growls, "Tats…. The man won't hurt you again."

I nod again, knowing my man avenged me.

"Before…. Fuck, before I get into your injuries, I wanted to speak with you."

I look at him as he holds my hand tighter and I rasp, "Go on," making him smile a little, knowing I don't want to know what's wrong with me yet.

"I, uh, wanted to thank you, Violet." I raise an eyebrow at him, and he smiles, squeezing my hand again. "Just over three and a half years ago, I received a phone call." I smile slightly despite the pain. "The young woman was direct and forceful, and I'm so fucking grateful to have gotten that call."

"He-he loves the club, he-he just h-hurts," I stutter, and he nods.

"You weren't even in a full relationship with him then; you were casual," he reminds me, and I smile again.

I admit, "We were never casual. We just didn't want to admit it to ourselves."

He grins. "I couldn't think of a better woman for my brother." I smile, wincing at the tightness in my cheekbone as he sighs. "He's still refusing to accept us, Vi, and I just, fuck, I don't know what more we can do to convince him to stay. There's not that much time left, Vi, and I-I'm sorry, darling. I know you want to stay on the fence, but I need your help…."

I nod slightly and admit, "He's giving in Snake." He furrows his brows, and I smile. “He hangs his cut up now. He's answering all your calls." I take a deep breath. “He hurts but loves you all. I don't need to sway him because his heart is the club. Spending time with his dad this past month as really helped."

He nods, his eyes tearing up. "Thank you for helping us keep our brother, Violet."

I nod as he takes a deep breath and says, "You have three cracked ribs, darling. You have a concussion, a cracked cheekbone, plenty of cuts and bruises. You have second-degree burns on your arms, and you are severely underweight."

My heart pounds, my tears already falling, knowing we can't put it off any longer, and I whisper, "Just tell me, Snake."

He nods, squeezing my hand. "Doc, uh, he hasn't got the equipment he needs to do a full scan, but he had a fetal doppler. Violet, I'm so sorry, darling, but after ten minutes of searching, he couldn't find a heartbeat. That's when Jayden went to the gym."

My tears fall hard as I sob, pressing a hand to my belly, wishing for my boy to move, to let me know he's okay, and that he just didn't want Doc to find him. But he doesn't. There's no flutter, no movement, nothing. My sobs wrack my body as Snake leans down, wrapping his arm around my head, putting my face into his neck as I violently sob, gripping his arm as I plead for my baby to move.

"Please-please move, baby, p-please.

Pain shoots through me as my cries get louder. Snake grips me tighter, pressing his lips to the top of my head and whispering, "I'm so sorry we didn't find you in time. So sorry, darling. So, so fucking sorry."

"Snake?" I hear someone whisper through my sobs.

He holds me tighter and rasps, "Get Tats, Emily."

Dexter took my mom from me, my dad, my sister, and now my baby.

"But—"
