Snake's dad, Bull, steps forward and admits, "He felt guilty, son, and he couldn't handle it."

Doc's dad, Crow, steps forward next and admits, "Your dad, he flew off the handle, son." I furrow my brows. "He turned to drinking and drugs, not able to handle his guilt, and we brothers…." He pauses as pain enters his brown eyes. "Fuck, son, we took our anger out on you instead of being there for you, not willing to see you as an innocent child."

Eagle, Tech's dad, steps forward next and admits, "There was a chance you could have been mine." He swallows hard. "I was with my old lady then. It was early stages of our relationship, and she told me she was pregnant, and I gave her my patch, only to find out she lied, so I cheated on her as revenge."

Tech cuts in with a rasped, "Fuck, dad…."

Eagle continues, ignoring his son. "I was going to end things with Carol, but then she said she was pregnant again, which was confirmed. Don't get me wrong, I love my woman, but I resented her, and when Snatch claimed to be pregnant, fuck, Carol made my life hell. I decided to blame you, an innocent child, for what I had to deal with for over ten years, and continue to deal with."

I wince and admit, "Carol starved me when she was on ‘Tats watch.’"

The brothers all suck in a breath as Tech kicks his chair over, shaking his head.

Bull says, "We all failed you, son, for selfish reasons. We didn't see what the women of the club were doing because we didn't want to see it, and I know we can't fix that. I know you spiraled in your younger years. I had the phone calls from my brother-in-law. I know you turned to drugs and alcohol. I know it wasn't just a little bit of weed, it was hardcore cocaine…." The brothers suck in a breath, not realizing how bad I got. "We don't want to lose you, Jayden. You may not be family by blood, but you're my nephew by heart, and I fucking love you, son." He holds his arms out. "We all fucking love you, and I know we haven't shown it enough. We treated you like a club enemy, like a fucking traitor, fuck—your own father ensured you didn't take your rightful place as enforcer for years because of Snatch."

Snake leans forward as I show my brothers, my fucking family, my pain as my tears fall.

He rasps, "We can't lose you, Jayden, I can't fucking lose you; you're my best friend. I know you were worried about the club and the women in it destroying your relationship. I know that's why you only wanted something casual with Violet, I know that's why you kept your three and a half-year relationship quiet. I know she's the main reason you want to move away from us, but haven't we proven that we've got your back? Haven't we proven how much we fucking love that girl?"

I sniffle and admit, "How can I let go of all the pain?"

The brothers look down, not knowing what to say as my father steps forward. "By letting us prove to you that we'll be there. By letting us help you and Violet through this difficult time. By letting us show you how sorry we all are."

“Please Jayden…don’t fucking leave us,” Crow whispers, and I stare at the table, my eyes on the devil etched there, the same devil I have on my shoulder blade. My mind wanders to my woman. What they don't realize is that she is why I'm still here and even considering staying in the club.

Her love for me and her strength through everything she's gone through gives me the strength to sit here and consider all my options as last week hits me, reminding me of the tough road ahead of us.

I furrow my brows and gently place my hand over my wife's where it is pressed on her stomach where our son lies. No longer living. I ask, "What's wrong, Shorty? Are you in pain?"

She shakes her head as more tears fall down her bruised cheeks. "No, no pain. Please, call Doc." She looks at Snake. "Call him, please…."

He nods and grabs his phone as I cup her uninjured cheek and say, "Talk to me, Vi. What's wrong?"

She cries, "I-I can feel him moving…."

I freeze, my eyes widen as Snake's voice echoes, "Fuck Doc, you need to get to the med room; she can feel the baby moving…."

I move my hand and cup her stomach, but I don't feel anything.

"Vi, are you sure?" I try not to wince at my hesitation, but Doc said she might experience phantom movements, her mind unwilling to let go of the pregnancy.

She shakes her head. "I-I don't know but…," she pauses, her eyes widening as she admits, "I can feel it again."

I make eye contact with my dad who sits forward. Concern shines in his eyes as my heart pounds. I want to believe her, I do, but she's been through a lot. Fuck, she’s lost her last connection to her parents when their old pick up wrecked.

The door opens as Snake goes to speak. We all look to see Doc pulling a machine in, making me raise a brow, and he winces.

He mutters, "If anyone asks, the machine was never here."

Snake snorts and asks, "Please tell me Tech played with the hospital cameras, so you don't fucking lose your job."

Doc rolls his eyes, stating, "Obviously," before moving the machine toward the bed. I move and gently lay my girl back, then pull a chair over, grabbing her hand gently, careful of the needle in her hand. Doc refuses to remove her IV just yet.

He looks at my girl as my dad and Snake stand near me, looking at the screen and anxiously waiting. "Snake mentioned you feel some movements?"

She sniffles. "I-I don't know. I-I think I do…like bubbles popping."

He nods. "Okay, let's check, shall we?"
