Brushing the hair out of her face, I spoke, “Dede, I could never be mad at you for telling me how you feel.”

“Really..” She whispered semi-happily, and I laughed.

“Of course not… This whole thing will be very confusing if I tell you about it at this age… but for now, we can start with Mommy.” She threw her arms around me, and I hugged her back as I kissed her on the top of her head.

“I love you, baby,” I said, and she hesitated before responding.

“..I love you too.. Mommy.” She replied as if a weight had been lifted off of her chest, and I let out a few tears as I pulled her closer. However, as I continued holding her, my attitude changed when Killian whispered.

“God, Blaine was right… I really do lack basic emotions.” I rolled my eyes and looked over to see him deep in thought as if he was really analyzing this as if it were something new. He looked up at me and shrugged.

“Well, not entirely, I guess… I felt a little something earlier, and.. my emotions try to surface when I’m around you.” I looked away from him, annoyed, and saw that Delilah was closing her eyes slowly. She looked up at Killian and gave him a smile, too.

“I love you too, Daddy.” My eyes widened slightly, and I looked over to Killian, who was already leaving the room, not awaiting my response. Delilah fell completely asleep, and I placed her back on her bed and pulled the duvet over her. Kissing her head one last time, I walked out of the room and pulled the door slowly.

Killian was on the bed opening his laptop, purposely ignoring me as I walked into the bedroom. I noticed he was dressed for bed already. Grabbing a silk cami and a pair of shorts from my closet, I stepped into the bathroom to get undressed. After pulling my hair into a bun and brushing my teeth, I walked out of the bathroom and went over to my side of the bed to see Killian, now wearing his glasses, with his laptop open on his lap.

I closed the laptop forcefully, and he glanced over at me. “You could’ve damaged my fingers.”

“Did you already know about Delilah’s feelings before I did?” I asked, and he didn’t answer, but the look on his face made me know his mind was elsewhere.

“You’re really testing my control, aren’t you..” He whispered, looking at my attire, and I snapped my fingers in his face. He looked back into my eyes, and I spoke.

“Why didn’t you tell me beforehand? How long have you known?”

“Darling.. you know it wasn’t my place to tell.. and maybe a week? Not sure.” He said calmly, and I sighed, partially agreeing with him as I wouldn’t have wanted my baby to feel obligated to share if she wasn’t ready.

“When do we leave for Europe?” I asked, deciding to change the subject, and he shrugged, taking off his glasses.

“In the coming weeks.. Depends on when my next meeting is.” I nodded, and he stood up. I watched him walk over to the bathroom, and in the process, he pulled his shirt over his head and threw it over on the chair. A blush quickly rose to my cheeks, and I shamelessly watched as he brushed his teeth and washed his face.

Once he finished, he walked over to the door and closed it, then dimmed the lights. He returned to the bed, and I said nothing as he climbed in. I bit my lip as he pulled me over to him by the waist, resting his hand on my thigh that was now lying on him.

“..I don’t own you, Brielle.” He acknowledged softly, and I tilted my head as he ran his finger down my leg.

“You don’t?” I whispered, and he hummed.

“No, I don’t. Not in that way.” He began, and I felt his hand travel to the small of my back. “You belong to me.. as much as I belong to you. As much as I want to own every single thing about you.. I don’t.” He muttered, and I placed my leg on his other side and straddled his waist as I tilted my head.

“If this is your attempt at another apology, Mr. Russel, then I accept.. but I know the kind of man you are.” I started as he seemed to be speaking a bit out of character. “And unfortunately, I know what I’ve gotten myself into,” I admitted, and he hummed as his hand slowly wrapped around my neck and pulled me closer. Placing a small kiss on my lips, he spoke as a slight shiver ran down my spine.

“So when I tell you no one else will have you.. when I tell you that you’re mine, that you belong to me, that you’remy wife..my possession..I mean it, Brielle…” Looking into his possessive gaze, I nodded softly as I was again captivated by his alluring dominance.

“I know..”

I closed my eyes as the sun peeked through the window into them. Slowly, I opened them and let out a soft yawn. When I checked the time, I saw that it was only 7:00 am, and I still had an hour to prepare for the day. As I tried to get up, I stopped as I felt Killian’s arm tighten around my waist. I turned my head slowly to see him sleeping soundly beside me.

He’s usually up and ready by now..I thought to myself as I turned my body, and he pulled me closer so that we were chest to chest. With a slight blush on my cheeks, my hand slowly reached for his hair. I brushed away the few strands that fell on his forehead and admired his face, which always bore the same expression: terrifying yet handsome.

Tracing his jawline with my finger, I could sense him relaxing under my touch while his eyes remained closed. As I looked at him, sleeping soundly, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of frustration for not telling him how I truly felt.

His breathing was calm and steady, indicating that he was still deep in his slumber. With a barely audible whisper, I finally mustered the courage to say the words that had been weighing heavily on my mind for so long. “I love you,” I softly whispered, knowing that he wouldn’t hear or respond since he was still asleep.

All of a sudden, I jumped as the closet door opened, and Benjamin strolled in with suitcases in hand. I looked over at him, and he stared directly into my eyes as if this were an everyday occurrence. I sat up on my elbows, and he set the bags on the sofa before returning to Killian’s closet. He returned with five suits and placed them on the edge of the bed.

“Good morning, Ms. Newman.” He said, finally acknowledging me, and I furrowed my eyebrows.

“Good morning?” I muttered, confused, and I jumped again as Killian spoke with closed eyes.
