“Hello, kitten… why don’t you come to have a seat.” He gestured to the chair before him, and Delilah made no effort to move. Calvin sighed while shaking his head.

“So stubborn.” Looking over to Benjamin, he raised an eyebrow jokingly, but simultaneously, it was sadistic. Benjamin walked Delilah to the couch, knowing that the man was capable of anything at the moment since they were in his home, surrounded and at his mercy.

He placed Delilah on the chair and removed her coat as she sat by the fire but left her scarf. He stood by her, not moving, and she continued to stare at Calvin with no emotion whatsoever. Calvin stared back and spoke without shifting eye contact.

“I was hoping to have some tea prepared for us to talk over, but I wasn’t expecting such a quick arrival. Pierce, would you be so kind as to make two cups with a side of scones… Have Benjamin accompany you as well. After all… his tea is to die for.” Pierce walked over to Benjamin and whispered in his ear, making Benjamin sigh and reluctantly follow. The door closed, and there was silence.

Calvin tilted his head as he smiled. “How are you, kitten?”

“Fine.” She replied sharply, and Calvin pouted.

“Why, that’s no way to talk.. What’s the matter?”

“I don’t like you.” Calvin chuckled. “Well, you barely even know me, kitten-”

“That’s not my name, and my daddy doesn’t like you, so I don’t.” Calvin hummed as he nodded his head.

“And daddy is Killian, is he not?” She nodded her head slowly, and Calvin spoke again. “Well, I happen to know Killian very well, and I can tell you that he and I are… very good friends..”

“You are?” Delilah asked, confused, and Calvin nodded.

“Of course we are. We may argue all the time, but under all the bickering.. we’re good friends.”

“My Uncle Blaine doesn’t like you, too.”

“Well, I don’t like him either, but we’re still friends as well…” He spoke as it pained him slightly to say those words. Delilah tilted her head as she eyed Calvin.

“Why am I here?”

“I just wanted to have a little conversation with you.. talk about your day or your weekend.”

“Why?” She asked as he concealed a smile within, fully aware of the reasons behind his actions yet choosing not to reveal them… just yet.

“No reason in particular… I just wanted to know. You know who I think you’ll also enjoy speaking to?” Delilah furrowed her eyebrows as he pressed the intercom, and a voice came in.

“Yes, Mr. Lockwood?” The woman said.

“Do me a favor and send in Archer for me… I have a little someone I’d like him to meet.”

“Who’s Archer?” Delilah asked, and Calvin smiled. “Well, kitten…Archer is my son.”

“Why do you want me to meet him?” She asked, and Calvin shrugged innocently.

“I thought it would be nice for you two to meet… You could become great friends.” Just then, a small knock was heard at the door, and Delilah quickly looked over her shoulder. Calvin chuckled and spoke.

“Come in.” The door opened, and in walked Archer. Delilah turned back and watched as he walked over to the couch.

“You called for me, father?” Archer spoke as he didn’t even notice Delilah in the room.

“Yes, I most certainly did, Archer..” Turning his son around to face Delilah, Calvin continued. “I want you to meet Delilah.” Delilah simply stared as the boy glared at her and eyed her suspiciously.

“Why is she here?” Archer asked without any filter, and Calvin sighed at his straightforward son.

“I wanted to introduce you to her so the two of you could get to know one another; why don’t you say hello?” His son continued to stare at her, but his glare subsided slightly, and he spoke in a nicer tone than when he came in.

“Hello..” He spoke, and Delilah answered softly in response.

“H-hi.”
