“You do know you almost gave her a miniature panic attack?”

“I know… I’m just hoping she won’t be too apprehensive when I do show myself.”

“I can tell you right now, Eugene… she will not be upset. She will be downright outraged, furious, just fucking pissed. Especially if you tell her all the secrets your family has been concealing and reveal how you’ve been hiding in plain sight while she’s been mourning your potential death.”

He laughed humorlessly. “Way to sugarcoat it.. she isn’t going to be the most pleased with you either. Not after you gaslit her into thinking you knew nothing about me.”

“That’s the thing. I’m prepared for the shit storm coming my way, but I don’t think you’re prepared for the hurricane coming to you… When did you even plan on facing her?”

“Soon… Anyway, I think I’m going to head out. We’ll talk soon.”

“I’m sure we will.. I’m giving you a 60-second head start to get off my property-” He cut me off.

“I only need ten.” He darted towards the roof terrace only to jump off the edge. I stared at the open door in complete confusion, and Benjamin came over to me. Initially, I may have thought he was dead, but I faintly heard as he landed on a balcony alongside the building, indicating he was very much alive.

“If you didn’t know… I found him climbing into my bedroom window, which was opened for fresh air…” Benjamin muttered, and I looked over to him. “I figured as much.. he’s never quite been a fan of front doors..”

“Sir, if I may… this building has well over fifty floors. One simply cannot climb from the outside of a building of this size and jump from the roof without a problem.”

I sighed as I shook my head, looking back to the doors of the roof terrace. “No… a normal person couldn’t, but Eugene can… If he could get all the way up here, I’m sure he already knew the quickest way down.”

Brielle gushed happily as she looked up at my home we would be staying in for the next few days. It was completely secluded, and the snow made it look almost mystical. I couldn’t understand her excitement or why she was thanking me so much for this trip in the jet…As if I wouldn’t have said yes… And of course, we had to bring little Delilah with us and, unfortunately, Benjamin, but I’m sure he wouldn’t bother us for the trip.

Brielle looked so adorable in her coat and scarf, with her nose a slight shade of red from the cold. She bounced up and down to get warm, but mainly because of her happiness.

“I don’t understand why you want to stay out here, darling; we could easily just go inside and wait for Benjamin to bring in Delilah along with the rest of our things.”

“Shush. I want to wait forthem,” I sighed, pulling her into my hold.

“You’re so difficult at times, do you know that?” She looked up at me knowingly and rolled her eyes.

“Mhmm, sure I am.” I chuckled at her, and we continued to wait. A few minutes passed, and I felt my heart grow heavy, and the aura around the house seemed to darken. I pulled away from Brielle, and she looked up at me in question.

“What’s wrong?” She asked, concerned, and I shook my head. I looked over to see Benjamin and Delilah rounding the side of the house, but that wasn’t the problem.

“Something’s not right… For some reason, I feel extremely tense.”

“Do you want to go have a seat inside?” She questioned, and I was about to nod but froze as I heardhisvoice in the distance.

“I didn’t eat on the plane. Do you have any snacks?”

“Good God, no..” I whispered, and Brielle grabbed onto my arm worryingly. “Killian, let’s go inside. You look pale.”

And then…anothervoice.“Boy, you eat every second of the day. Can you go even 20 minutes without food?”

“You know I can’t! I have to be fed every so often.”

“Why must Killian keep you around? It’s like taking care of a child.”

And as if I was in a nightmare, there I saw Blaine.. walking up to the house not only by himself but with… my parents, Madam Alexandrova and Mr. Burkley. I could feel my rage grow as I pulled out of Brielle’s hold and placed my hands in my hair.

“NO GOD, PLEASE NO! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!” I screamed, and it went silent for a bit. Brielle grabbed my arm, and I pulled away slowly as I ran my hands down my face.

“No.. no, no… I’m just in a nightmare… just a nightmare..” I was starting to believe myself, but then I heard Blaine speak again as he chuckled.

“Looks like someone didn’t know we were coming to spend the holiday with him.. You know Kiki, it’s not easy getting rid of us!” He yelled, and I screamed again as I entered the house.

“NO, NO, NO!” I slammed the front door shut and stormed up to my bedroom. Ripping off my coat, I threw it to the ground as I sat on the chair. Holding my head in my hands as I tried to calm myself, I breathed in deeply to soothe my irritation. After what seemed like hours, Brielle walked into the room, and I moved my arms as she sat across my legs and laid my head on her chest.
