“I’m looking into that now, but for the most part, it’s classified.” He disclosed and I clenched my hand in a fist as I tried to control my growing anger.

“Let me tell you something right now, Harrison. I won’t be letting Delilah or Brielle step foot near that woman or that courtroom.”

“I understand. What do you suggest we do?”Killian thought about his options for a moment, and something clicked in his mind.

“Where the hell is Lockwood? He hasn’t annoyed me for a whole week now… something’s not right.”

“I was told that he left the country with his son last week, and he’s been overseas ever since.”

“Dammit, that bastard knows what he’s done, and now he’s running. Tell Anna to inform me the second he’s back in the country. I have to go.. If you receive any other details, send me a message.”Ending the call, Killian went back into the restaurant and walked over to their table to see dinner had arrived. Taking a seat, Brielle looked over at him, worried.

“Are you alright? Was it that bad?” Killian bit his lip as he grabbed Brielle’s hand and gave it a kiss.

“Let’s not talk about it right now. I would much rather spend time with the two of you than discuss work-related matters.” Brielle nodded her head, and Delilah giggled as she watched the two of them. They both looked over to her, and Killian chuckled.

“What’s got you so happy, darling?” She shrugged innocently.

“Nothing… Are you married yet?” She asked, genuinely curious. Killian looked over to Brielle, who was trying to contain her laughter from listening. He gave Delilah a wink, and the little girl gushed again as she expressed how happy she was.

After some time, dinner was over, and they were on their way back to the mansion. Upon getting closer, they noticed the snow starting to fall again. Stepping out of the car, Brielle held her hand out to Delilah, and Killian grabbed the little girl’s other hand as well. As they walked over to the door, it opened, and instead of Benjamin, Reginald came into sight.

Killian rolled his eyes. “When does it ever end?” Ignoring him, Brielle and Delilah greeted the man with a hug and walked inside. They were informed that Benjamin, Reginald, Leo, and George would be in and out of the home as their families had also come for the holidays and were staying in homes nearby.

Blaine came over to everyone excited, with Benjamin trailing in from behind him. “The tree is up, and all of the gifts are under. Come to see!” He revealed happily. Brielle first assumed he was talking to her, but when he picked up Delilah, she knew she thought wrong. Nonetheless, she smiled as she walked into the living room and gazed at how lovely it was.

Delilah gawked at the decorations and looked down at the presents that filled the bottom and surrounded the tree. She did, however, miss the present that was wrapped specifically for her in the corner of the tree that had shifted a little on its own.

Letting the little girl down, Blaine pointed to the stairs. “Now you march your little butt up there and get your PJ’s on. When you’re done, we can convince your mommy and daddy to open at least one present tonight.” Hearing the word present, the little girl dashed towards the steps, and Reginald followed her up for assistance if she needed it.

“What are you doing, Blaine?” Killian asked, and Blaine gasped dramatically.

“Why, I’m not doing anything Killian. Why would you think such a thing?”

“It’s obvious he wants Delilah to open his present first because he thinks it’s better,” Frederick proclaimed upon entering the room with Eleanor, prompting a smile from Blaine.

“That is the exact reason I’m doing this. And besides, my present for her can’t exactly wait overnight in a box.” Killian was about to question him but decided not to as he went upstairs to find Brielle. He entered the room and shut it as he watched her pull her hair into a ponytail.

She was already dressed for bed in her usual combination of a long-sleeved shirt, shorts, and knee-high socks. Coming up behind her, Killian placed a kiss on her neck and ran his hands over her stomach.

“Blaine wants us to open one present tonight.” She rolled her eyes. “That man has been talking about how happy Delilah will be for a good month or so.”

Killian shrugged. “I think we should. Though, a few people are only receiving one thing from me.”

Looking up at him, Brielle placed a small kiss on his lips. “I’m sure they’ll be happy with anything they get.”

Going back down to find everyone in the living room, Brielle sat beside Killian, who laid her legs across his as he caressed her knee occasionally.

“Does anyone want to start first?” Blaine asked, and Frederick looked over to him.

“Is it not you that initiated this whole thing? Shouldn’t you go first?”

Blaine shook his head. “No. I’m waiting to give my gift.. it’s special.” Rolling his eyes, Killian reached into his pocket and pulled two envelopes out, marked Mr. Burkley and Madam Alexandrova. Handing both to the two of them, they looked at him curiously.

“I wanted to thank you… for letting me into Brielle’s life and somewhat accepting me.. Madam Alexandrova for being my relationship consoler and Mr. Burkley for tolerating the most intolerable man on Earth…” It was silent as they opened the envelopes, and from the look on Mr. Burkley’s face, everyone knew that this present was anything but small. Madam A had tears coming to her eyes as she tried to stop herself from crying.

“Killian.. dear, why would you do such a thing?” She asked, and Killian shrugged.

“Because… I feel as though that’s how much you deserve.”
