“I’m trying to figure out a way to tell you everything, but there are just some things that… got buried so deep, just so it wouldn’t hurt to think about.” Brielle tilted her head at him.

“What could be so bad that you’re literally tearing yourself apart because of it?”

“In all honestly, Bri… almost everything.” Before she was even able to say anything else, Eugene pulled away and excused himself as he walked into the bathroom. Brielle stood up slowly and eventually made her way over to Killian, who was sitting at the back of the plane. She took a seat beside him and rubbed his hand, making him relax slightly.

“Killy… I need you to calm down.”

“I’m calm, Brielle..” He answered with much hostility, and she sighed as she pushed him back in his chair. He looked up at her in question and watched as she sat on his lap. Looking down at her legs that straddled his, he felt her place her hand under his chin to make him look back up at her.

“Killian. Tell me what’s wrong?” He opened his mouth to speak, and she shook her head. “And I just spoke to Eugene, which resulted in him walking out of the room. I want you to tell me nothing but the truth.”

Killian bit his lip. “I guess Blaine was right about that whole honesty thing…” He muttered and then cleared his throat as he continued. “It’s a lot of things, but ultimately, it’s Calvin. I received a message his morning.. about him being involved with Marissa and other.. numerous things.”

“Killian, I’m happy you’re telling me the ‘truth,’ but I’d like to have a bit more context than before. Who did you receive these messages from? What did they say? How much more is my sister getting involved with Calvin?”

Grabbing her hand, he placed a kiss on her knuckles before responding. “Love… I will explain this all to you, but before I do, I need to see Calvin.”

“Killian, your father told you not to kill him, and I think you need to listen to his suggestion for once.”

“Darling, I’m not going to kill him. You’ll be there to keep me sane.”

“And if I wasn’t there?” Killian shrugged. “Then it would be quite a different story.”

“Just be good, okay?” She pleaded, and Killian only nodded his head in response.

A few hours later, their plane landed, and George escorted them out to the limo. He dropped Benjamin and Delilah off at the penthouse before driving to Calvin’s building with Killian, Blaine, Brielle, and Eugene. Immediately upon reaching the building, Killian jumped out of the car, and Brielle quickly took off her seatbelt as she tried to get out as well.

Walking into the building with Blaine and Eugene following her, she noticed Killian’s swift strides toward the elevator past the receptionist. And from the looks of it in the lobby, she’d seen that she wasn’t the only one who noticed him. With all eyes on them, the atmosphere had already turned cold, and you could hear a pin drop. Entering the elevator, Brielle looked to see the receptionist holding up the phone to her ear.

“Please inform Mr. Lockwood that he has visitors-” She began, and her trembling voice was cut off by the elevator doors closing. Brielle looked over to Killian, who seemed excessively calm. She stood by him as she grabbed his arm.

“Killian… What are you planning to-”

“Darling, I simply want to have a conversation with the man… nothing more.” Brielle bit her lip in slight fear, and her eyes drifted over to Blaine, who shook his head at her as if he was letting her know Killian was lying.

The second the elevator doors opened on the top floor, Killian pulled out of Brielle’s hold and stormed out. Calvin’s secretary internally gulped as she stepped out of his office and saw the angry look on Killian’s face. She moved out of his way immediately while the other three went after him.

Killian harshly ripped the door open, and Calvin yelped as he seemed to be trying to feebly hide behind his desk. Marching towards him, Calvin placed a worrying smile on his face before trying to dial security. His attempt was useless as Killian picked up the phone and threw it across the room, making Brielle flinch back slightly.

Calvin sighed, now looking irritated. “You know that was remarkably uncalled for.”

“You think I honestly give a fuck about the shit you think is uncalled for?”

“Well, no, but you should at least take it into consideration..” Killian tried moving towards him, but Blaine pulled him back, catching Calvin’s attention as he rolled his eyes.

“Ugh, Porter. Must you always follow him everywhere he goes?”

“You should be thanking me for practically saving your ass.” Blaine retorted, and Killian shook him off as he narrowed his eyes at Calvin.

“Quit the small talk, Lockwood. I’m not here to play any games. Sit down and stop running.” Calvin sighed and took a seat at his desk chair. Looking at both men, he’d completely missed Brielle, who was now standing in front of his desk.

He smiled once he noticed her. “Hello, Brielle. How are you, my darling?”

“I could be doing better..” She responded, and he shrugged.

“I think we all… could be doing a little better.” His eyes then drifted to Eugene, who wasn’t paying attention to most of the conversation. Calvin glanced over to Killian, slightly confused. “What’s he doing here?” He asked, unaware that they’d been in contact, and Killian shook his head.

“That’s none of your concern. I’m here to know what the hell you and Marissa have going on. One minute, the two of you are all buddy-buddy, and the next, you aren’t.”
