Brielle walked into the kitchen and saw Blaine sitting at the table, enjoying a cup of tea while Benjamin was cleaning. Killian sat at the head of the table and beckoned her over with his finger without looking away from his laptop. She walked over to him and wasn’t surprised as he pulled her down to his lap and kissed the back of her neck.

Rolling his eyes, Blaine placed his cup on the table. “Can you guys stop being disgusting? Just for a day?”

“Don’t be jealous, Blaine.” Brielle giggled, and he scoffed dramatically.

“Me? Huh? Jealous of this insane mother fucker? I think not, and we all know he wouldn’t be where he was without me.” Killian tilted his head as a look of confusion crossed his face. He wrapped his arms around Brielle’s waist as she relaxed in his hold.

Resting his head on her shoulder, he spoke. “We all know both of those statements were false, but let’s not dwell on that subject for too long.” Blaine readied himself to speak with a look of playful anger on his face, but before he could, the elevator doors opened, and they heard footsteps coming to the kitchen.

They all watched as Eugene entered the room, his hair extremely disheveled and a look of distress displayed on his face. Brielle sat up in Killian’s arms, but he didn’t let her go.

“Eugene, I haven’t seen you in nearly two days. Where have you been?” She asked semi-angrilly. Killian could feel her trying to get up, but from the look on her face, he pulled her closer to him and placed a kiss on the top of her head to calm her down. Eugene ran his hand through his hair and gulped softly.

“I… did something that Iprobablyshouldn’t have done.”

A Few Hours Earlier

Marissa’s eyes slowly started to open as she was caught in a daze. She hadn’t known when she fell asleep or the fact that she was sleeping at all. Her eyes started focusing after a few more blinks, and she looked up to see Calvin giving her a smile.

“Well, good morning. How do you feel?” He asked, and only then did she notice she was in his living room. She made a move to stand, and Calvin simply shook his head.

“If I were you, I wouldn’t even flinch. It took some time to convince your brother to actuallynotkill you.. Ironic, I know. Especially after that little stunt you pulled at the cafe with Brielle and Nathan… yeah.. he’s not feeling so hot.” Calvin commented, nodding his head over to Eugene, who was pacing back and forth with his hands in his hair. Marissa noticed the pistol tucked in her brother’s waistband, and she gave a small gulp as she settled in her chair, making Calvin chuckle.

“I like that you already see how things are going to run. This shouldn’t take long at all, then.” As if on cue, Pierce walked into the room and set the documents requested on the coffee table. Nodding his head, Calvin sent him away and sighed.

“Alright. Where to start? Where to start? Oh, well, for starters, I’m going to need you to sign this document here before we get to everything else.” He slid the paper across the table to her, and she furrowed her eyebrows.

“Calvin… what the hell is going on?” She asked.

“Oh, I was sure you were already catching on by now, but I’ll explain... This whole situation with you, Delilah, Brielle- It’s over.” He said abruptly, changing his mood instantly.

Marissa felt her heart sink. “W-what do you mean it’s over?” He gave her a look and tilted his head.

“I think you know what I mean, Marissa… This document is a summary of all the things you’ve done, including fraud, larceny, perjury, embezzlement- oh, and let’s not forget about child abandonment… you didn’t think I was just going to let that one slide, did you? It’s all there for the court to see. You just have to sign.”

She looked at him in utter shock as he leaned in and whispered. “And just for the courtesy of it.. I’ll make sure you and your parents get nothing less than 40 years… and that’s on good behavior.” He winked, and she shook her head.

“You’re crazy.” She whispered, and Calvin faked a look of shock.

“Me, crazy? Well, I’m not the one going to prison… at least not right now, of course,” He remarked, and Eugene couldn’t help but chuckle.

“There is no way in hell I’m signing this.” She seethed, and Calvin shrugged.

“Marissa, sweetheart.. what’s the point in not complying? There’s no real way out of this, as they already have enough evidence to arrest you… To make this easy on you and your current family’s situation, your admission of guilt and signature will benefit where you end up in the long run.”

“I’m not signing it! I want my child, and I want that fucking bitch gone!!” She yelled, and Calvin was taken aback, unprepared for her sudden outburst. Turning off his entire façade, he called Eugene over.

“Do me a favor, Eugene… call in her parents and bring in Brielle and Killian… I think it’s about time for us to formally come together.” Eugene walked away, and Calvin looked back to the shaken woman as he spoke once again.

“Maybe I heard you wrong.. who did you want gone again? Make sure you say it like you mean it this time.”

Eventually, Cheryl and Gregory entered Calvin’s living room to see their daughter sitting in front of a bunch of documents with tears in her eyes. Calvin sat emotionless as he watched them go back and forth about how apologetic and regretful they were.

After impatiently waiting for another twenty minutes, Killian and Blaine walked in with Eugene as well, but he noticed how Brielle didn’t come along with them. He looked over to Killian in question, and as if already knowing the question waiting to be asked, Killian spoke.

“She’s in your office. She’s not exactly.. feeling calm at the moment with the bomb this idiot just dropped on her.” He revealed, referring to Eugene, and Calvin nodded.

Killian then looked over to Marissa, who still had tears rolling down her face. Taking a seat on the couch, it took everything in him not to laugh about their situation. He opened his mouth to speak, but Marissa beat him to it.
