“Relax, Killian, deal with him afterward.” He whispered, and Killian reluctantly looked away.

The music started playing again, and Killian looked over to see Brielle walking down the aisle with Mr. Burkley by her side. His heart sped up slightly, and at that moment in time, it genuinely was only the two of them. He disregarded the people observing and could just hear the sound of his heartbeat. Once she was in front of him, Killian held her hands in one of his and pushed back her veil to gaze at her gorgeous face. She smiled up at him, and the clergy began speaking.

“Ladies and gentlemen, family and friends, we are gathered here today to witness and celebrate the joining of Killian Russel and soon-to-be Brielle Russel in marriage. With love and commitment, they have decided to live their lives together as husband and wife…..” Killian listened to the man speak as he unconsciously started caressing her hands.

Brielle bit her lip as Killian stared her down with a look that held the uttermost love.

“…The bride and groom will now exchange vows.”

Clearing her throat, Brielle started speaking. “Killian.. words cannot explain the amount of love I have for you. From the moment you laid eyes on me, I felt something... something I’ve never felt in my entire life. You treated me like I was the only woman on Earth. Even if unwanted, you made it your goal to make me feel safe, protected.. loved. Something that I did not have much experience in feeling, and for that, I will live the rest of my life only loving you. I promise to stay with you through all the thick and thin, at your highest and lows, through ups and downs. I will be there. Forever. You’ve shown me what good can come from a relationship and ultimately ruined me for anyone else. In the presence of our family and friends, I offer you my solemn vow to be your faithful partner in sickness and health, in good times and bad, and in joy as well as sorrow. I promise to love you unconditionally, support you in your goals, honor and respect you, laugh with and cry with you, and cherish you for as long as we both shall live.”

By the end of her small speech, tears had fallen again, and in the middle of her talking, Killian had placed his hand on her cheek, wiping them slowly as if encouraging her to keep going. A few of the people in the audience had also teared up while listening as well. Holding his hand on her cheek, Killian started to speak.

“Brielle.. Before I met you, my life was, quote-unquote, perfect. The power, control, and wealth, everything I had was perfect… I only realized how imperfect it was when I saw you. You were the only thing I was missing, and being the selfish person I am, I wanted to claim you before anyone else could. To some, it may have seemed that we moved too fast, but I knew what I wanted. I wanted to marry you. You’ve taught me so many things.. patience, appreciation, tolerance, self-control, and a thousand more things. For that, I am forever in your debt. I promise always to be there for you, to shelter and hold your love as the most precious gift in my life. I will be truthful and honor you. I will care for you always and stand by you in times of sorrow and joy. I’m happy to be the one you wake up to and the last person on your mind before you sleep. I hope I can be the best husband to you. And I hope you know I won’t ever let you go because… From the minute I laid eyes on you, I knew that you’d be mypossession in discretion.”

By the end of his speech, Brielle couldn’t hold back the small sobs that came out. The audience then proceeded to clap at the exchange, and Killian chuckled as he now used both of his hands to wipe away her tears.

“I now present you with the rings..” The clergy spoke, and the little boy who’d been holding the rings came up to them. Killian grabbed the ring and slipped it on Brielle’s hand.

“I, Killian, take you, Brielle, to be my lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.” Brielle picked up his ring and said the same to him as she slipped it on his finger.

“If anyone has an objection to the marrying of these two, speak now or forever hold your peace.” At the same time, Eugene and his friends lifted the ends of their jackets, showing the gun tucked in each of their waistbands. Brielle giggled at their antics, and Killian rolled his eyes as he held the bridge of his nose.

The audience started laughing, and the clergy cleared his throat. “Well, I would assume that anyone who did object would now besilenced, so let us continue. Do you, Killian, take this woman, Brielle, to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself solely unto her for as long as you both shall live?”

“I do.” He said without hesitation.

“Do you, Brielle, take this man Killian to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, in sickness and health, to love, in good times and woe, for richer or poorer, keeping yourself solely unto him for as long as you both shall live?”

“I do,” Brielle replied.

“By the authority vested in me by the State of New York, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”

“Fucking finally,” Killian muttered as he captured Brielle’s lips in a hungry, possessive kiss. The audience stood and clapped as they shared their first kiss as husband and wife. After a few moments, Blaine patted Killian’s back.

“Alright, buddy, you’ll get to do all of that on your honeymoon. Don’t get too carried away now.” Pulling away, Killian stared down at the only woman in the world whom he loved with all of his well-being and shrugged.

“I’m sure they won’t mind too much.” Dipping Brielle, he wiped her fallen hair from her face and again claimed her lips.

Eventually, Brielle went to change into a more comfortable white silk gown for the reception. It was time for the first dance, and Killian walked her over to the dance floor. Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran was playing, and Brielle rolled her eyes. “You chose this old classic Killy?” She asked, and he shrugged.

“One of the only songs to explain our relationship the best way.” They started dancing to the music, and Brielle laid her head on Killian’s shoulder as she followed his movements.

When they finished, Brielle and Killian walked around greeting the guests at their tables. Eventually, Calvin made his way over to them with a smile on his face. Killian tightened his arm around Brielle’s waist and whispered in her ear.

“Remind me why you invited him again?” She shushed him softly as she rubbed his arm, and Calvin sighed. “Congratulations to the both of you… I never thought I’d see the day.”

“Thank you, Calvin,” Brielle smiled and nudged Killian, who nodded and cleared his throat.

“Yes, uh, thank… you, Calvin.” Calvin chuckled, and Brielle spoke. “Are you here by yourself?” She asked, and the man shook his head.

“My son is here with me as well, sitting at the children’s table, I believe.” Brielle looked over her shoulder and saw Delilah, Kimiko, the little boy who held the rings, a few other children, and Archer sitting at the kids’ table.

She took notice of how most of the kids were laughing as they talked and ate their food, but Archer had a stoic expression on his face. He sat across Delilah and stared daggers at the ring boy sitting beside her.

Brielle bit her lip as she turned away, and an unsettling feeling sat inside her. She felt as though the little boy was a bit too mature for his age, and it bothered her slightly. She looked back to the two men to see them not saying much, just staring one another down.

Brielle cleared her throat. “Well, we’ll see you a little later, Calvin. We have other guests to greet..” They excused themselves and continued to their guests. They both looked over to Blaine, who was walking up to Maia, who stood by the appetizers. Killian knew by Blaine’s stride and look in his eyes that he was going to try to use his ‘charm’ to impress her.
