“Well, darling, I know you’d look fabulous in every dress. I’m sure Killian will think so as well.” I groaned again as this was the fourth time she mentioned Killian.

“Madam A, I’m serious!” I said, irritated, and she pointed her finger at me.

“I’d watch that tone if I were you.” I felt like hanging up on her so badly, but I knew I would have to pay the consequences later. I was about to ask her for her opinion on two previous ones when I heard someone walk into her home.

“I’ve got your food. Where do you want me to put it?” I narrowed my eyes to see the shadow silhouette of what looked to be Mr. Burkley.

“Just in the kitchen is fine,” Madam A responded, looking back at the camera to see my semi-angry face.

“Is there something you want to tell me, Madam A?” I tilted my head, and she shrugged.

“He’s buying me food…. I can’t say no to that.” I rolled my eyes at her, and Mr. Burkley came into frame.

“Who are you on the phone with?” He asked, and she looked up.“Just one of our pestering children.”

“Hey! I’m right here,” I exclaimed, and she ignored me. Mr. Burkley walked over to her and looked into the phone.

“Hey, how’s it going?”He asked, and I scoffed.

“Hey, how’s it going?…. Hey, how’s it going?! Is that all you ever say to me? When did this happen?” I questioned, gesturing to them being close together.

“Dunno… few weeks?” He spoke, and my eyes went wide.

“A few weeks!?! Madam A, can you even explain yourself?” She shrugged.

“It hasn’t even been that long, nor has it even started. He’s just been bringing food to the studio for me and running errands.”

“Oh, so I’m just an errand boy now? I thought we had something,” Mr. Burkley asked, looking overly offended. I glanced at the time and groaned as I was slowly approaching eight o’clock.

“I didn’t say you were just an errand boy. Stop putting words in my mouth.”

“With all the stuff you have me doing lately,I wouldn’t be surprised if something else has been going in your mouth.” She turned to him appalled, and I groaned as I didn’t have time for her scolding and his childish behavior.

“PLEASE CAN WE JUST DECIDE ON A DRESS FOR ME TO WEAR?!” I fumed, and they both turned to me as if they’d forgotten I was even on the phone.

“Why do you need an opinion on a dress?” He asked, and Madam A responded.“She has a date with Killian tonight.”

“Well, why didn’t you say so sooner? Let me see what you have.” Mr. Burkely inquired, and I picked up a dress and held it to my body.

“Eh, too dark. You don’t want to seem too depressing.” I stuck my tongue out at him before picking up the next one.

“We’re having dinner, not going to a bar. Try again.” I picked up the next dress, and he shook his head.

“This isn’t Party City. Halloween is in a few more weeks, sweetie.” Throwing the dress on the floor, I grabbed the white one, and he clapped his hands.

“Yes! That’s the one!” I smiled as I laid it on the bed.

“…I was going to say that one.” Madam A said, mumbling, and I bid them goodbye quickly before another argument started. I glanced over to Delilah, who was still passed out, then took the next hour or so to pamper myself and prepare for tonight’s dinner. As I did, I had to stop myself from overthinking every little detail to ensure tonight was perfect. For what particular reason, I wasn’t too sure. I just knew I wanted to look pretty for the night..for him.My subconscious pried, and I shook away the thoughts again as I looked in the mirror.

The dress went just below my knee and hugged my body in all the right ways. Looking at the time, I quickly ran over to my light pink heels and slipped them on. Grabbing my clutch, I tiptoed over to the door and turned off the light.

Once the door was closed, I made a run for the stairs, almost tripping in the process, and quickly went down. I saw Killian waiting at the bottom of the steps, and he turned to face me. He bit his lip as his eyes roamed my body, and I brushed my wavy hair behind my ear nervously as I reached him.

“Good evening, Brielle..” He said, maintaining eye contact. I gulped as his intoxicating scent engulfed me.

“Good evening, Killian.” He placed his hand on the small of my back and led me over to the roof.

“Tonight, my darling.. words can not describe how beautiful you look..” He muttered, gazing down at me, and I said a small thank you to him as I didn’t want to embarrass myself.
