Answering the call, I held it up to my ear. “Hi, Killian,” I greeted in a monotone, and he spoke rather angrily.

“Do you have the black card I instructed you to use?”He asked with complete seriousness, and I placed the coin purse in my bag.

“Mhmm.” I nodded, ignoring the way his voice affected me, and he chuckled. “That’s good.. are you planning on using it for your purchases today?”

“Sure, you could say that,” I answered, and he paused for a second before speaking again.

“Hand Leo the purse with your money.”I furrowed my eyebrows, but they relaxed, and I rolled my eyes when I witnessed Leo entering the aisle.

“Killian, why is Leo following me?”

“Simple. I didn’t have any bodyguards off duty right now. He was the closest person to your location. Now hand him the purse, darling.” I whined, pulled the coin purse out, and handed it to him.

“Killian, this isn’t fair.”

“Of course it is. Now I must go. Leo should be there to assist you if you will need it.” I hung up the phone and looked over to Leo, who had his head down in shame. I grabbed the cart and shook my head.

“Very disappointed in you, Leo.. I thought you were better than this.” He lifted his head and gave me a sly smirk as he chuckled. I rolled my eyes and walked away from him as I continued to look down the aisles for the rest of Reginald’s list and the ingredients for dinner tonight.

I grabbed everything I needed, and we went over to the register. I unwillingly paid for everything with Killian’s card, and Leo grabbed the bags. We walked over to the car, and I helped him put the bags in the trunk, much to his dismay. Sitting back in the back seat, he entered the front and started the engine.

“What is our next destination, Ms. Newman?”

“Just to the nearest mall. I need to buy a few things.”

“Alright.. Mr. Russel also prepared a list of stores for you to shop. You can read them while I drive.” He handed a paper back to me, and I shook my head.

“He can’t be serious,” I whispered as I read the list silently in my head.

“The following stores and several other exceptions are the only locations where you shall purchase clothing, accessories, makeup, etc.” I squeezed the paper in my hands angrily as I didn’t dare continue to read. Leo looked back for a second and gulped, as he probably was expecting this already.

“Let me get this straight. I can’t buy shoes from Walmart. I have to buy them from a company with a name I can barely pronounce?”

“Well, technically, Ms. Newman, Walmart doesn’t have stores in the UK-”He tried to reason, but I spoke, “Leo?” I interrupted as I continued reading the list, and he responded.

“Yes, Miss?”

“Please stop talking.” He nodded in understanding, and I set the paper aside before staring out of the tinted window.

We arrived at our destination, and as soon as we parked the car, Leo got out and courteously opened the door for me. I stepped out of the car and took a deep breath as I gazed up at the massive shopping mall. As we headed towards the entrance, the guards stationed at the door nodded at us and kindly opened the door for us. As we entered, I was captivated by the mall’s stunning decor as we strolled along.

“Where would you like to go first?” he asked, and I looked at him.

“Wherever I’m allowed to buy some makeup,” I shrugged, and he wordlessly led me over to an expensive store to start. He let me roam the store as he followed me, and I looked at the different foundations, powders, and concealers. I found my shades in all three, but my face contorted once I glanced at the price.

“Makeup is so expensive,” I muttered to myself as I shook my head and placed the products back on the shelves. I had been trying to find some eyeshadow palettes, lipsticks, and glosses, but I pouted as I couldn’t find anything in my price range. Turning around, I noticed Leo standing at the end of the section, casually holding three bags.

He nonchalantly picked up each of the eyeshadow palettes I had glanced at earlier and put them in the second bag. I walked over to him and cleared my throat, causing him to flinch and look at me. He slowly moved the bags behind him, but I shook my head.

“Hand over the bags, Leo.” He gave them to me reluctantly, and I gasped as I saw every makeup item I looked at today.

“I only needed a few things, Leo. I was eventually going to get them before we left.” He chuckled as he walked toward the registers, set the bags on the counter, and shook his head.

“You’re not a very good liar, sweetheart.” He held his hand out for Killian’s card, and I pouted as I handed it to him.

“This isn’t fair, you know,” I argued, and he looked over at me and smiled sarcastically.“Life isn’t fair, darling.”

With no response, I ignored him while he finished paying. Afterward, he picked up the bags and led me out of the store as he hid the receipt from me. He used his phone to call one of the guards and asked them to come to collect the bags. Soon after, one of the guards arrived.
