I grabbed her hand with my other hand slowly, and she grasped it quickly as her bloodshot eyes opened abruptly. I helped her sit up, and she began to cry while trying to speak.

“K-Killian?” She whispered, and I responded as I rubbed her back softly.

“I’m right here, darling.”

“… I-I feel like… something bad is going to happen.” I caressed her knee, and she calmed herself down as she looked at me.

“Nothing is going to happen, Brielle. I won’t allow it.”

“A-are you sure?” I nodded with assurance, and she rested her head back on the couch cushion. I continued caressing her softly, and eventually, she fell asleep once more. Standing up as I let go of her hand, I picked her up in a bridal style, and she immediately held onto me.

Walking over to the stairs, I saw Benjamin walk past the foyer, and he gasped as he saw Brielle in my arms. I rolled my eyes at his dramatics.

“Relax. I didn’t sedate her. She just fell asleep. I’m not that desperate.”

After I reached the top of the steps, I opened her door and walked over to her bed. I tried laying her down, but she pulled me closer and whimpered. I tried once again, and her bottom lip started quivering.

Standing back up, she instantly relaxed and snuggled closer to me. I quirked my eyebrows as I tried to place her on the bed again, and she did the same thing, only returning to normal when I pulled her back to me and stood.

“So that’s how you’re gonna play, hmm?” I could’ve sworn I saw her grin, but I shook it off.

“Brielle.. I know you’re sleeping, but I’m getting impatient. Either you lay in your own bed like a normal person, or,” I shrugged my shoulders. “You come to my room… to lay in my bed with me.” I waited for her to do or say something, but all she did was snuggle closer to me again as I sighed.

“So be it.” Walking out of her room, I went down the hall to mine, opened the door, and turned on the light. I easily managed to grab my laptop and finish getting ready as I shifted her in my hold and paid little attention to her.

Dimming the lights, I walked over to the bed and placed her down entirely before she whined slightly. Once I sat down, she moved closer to me and rested her head on my lap as I sighed deeply once again.

“I won’t be getting much done with you tonight, will I?” I looked down at her, shaking my head. Reaching over to my nightstand, I grabbed my glasses and put them on. Though I had perfect vision, these were a godsend on these late nights when I’ve had a rather strenuous day.

After reading a few last-minute emails and contracts, I closed my laptop and placed it along with my glasses on my nightstand. I lay down and turned off the lights with the switch on my headboard. Brielle shifted as well, and eventually, she ended up cuddling into my chest as I lay on my side. I smiled as I thought about how she would react in the morning, but as for right now, I just enjoyed watching her rest before I fell asleep as well.

Brielle

I snuggled under the duvet, inhaling Killian’s scent that surrounded me. Suddenly, a door creaked open, and a deep chuckle followed.

“Well, someone’s enjoying my bed a little too much.” My eyes opened abruptly, and I sat up in confusion, realizing this was not my room.

I looked to where the voice was emitted and witnessed Killian, only in his towel around his waist.. as water dripped down his defined chest. My cheeks instantly went red as I heard him chuckle once again.

“Problem?” He asked.

“Why am I in here?” I questioned, and he shrugged as he approached me slowly.

“Simple. You didn’t want to sleep in your room.”

“So you deemed it justifiable to kidnap me..” I narrowed my eyes at him, and he stood beside me as his hand slowly caressed the side of my face.

“Well, it wouldn’t be the first time you’ve slept in my bed..” He muttered, and my blush intensified. I pushed him away, annoyed, as I got out of bed. Walking over to the door, he shook his head.

“The door is locked. Use my bathroom to shower before you leave..” He said, nodding to his bathroom, and I crossed my arms. I couldn’t understand why he was being this difficult. His eyes ran over my figure as I decided not to go against him, and I reluctantly walked into the bathroom.

Using the shower with all the essentials he left out for me, I wrapped myself in a towel as my hair dripped slightly. Exiting the bathroom, his back was to me as he fixed his shirt buttons. He turned to me, and I immediately realized why he had put me in this predicament.

He approached me once again, and I bit my lip as he towered over me slightly. “I have to get ready, sir..” I whispered, and he remained silent as he ran his hand up and down my arm.

“I know you do..” He muttered, and I gulped softly, unconsciously reminded of how unsatisfied he’d left me the night before. And now..

“Just wanted to keep our little game going,” he revealed, placing a small kiss on my lips before grabbing his belongings and leaving the room without unlocking the door.
