“Come in,” she said hoarsely, and she watched as Killian opened the door and stepped in. He gave her a sad smile as he sat on the bed with her. He pulled her closer to him so that her legs were across his, and her head lay on his shoulder.

“Hi…” he whispered, brushing the hair out of her face. She also gave him a sad smile. “Hi..”

“.. I didn’t know that these were Calvin’s plans. If I had been aware of them before, trust me, I would have never brought you near that building.”

“It’s okay.. as much as I want this to end, I have a feeling this is just the beginning.”

“I could always hire a hitman and get it over with.” He offered, and she slapped his chest as she shook her head.

“She’s my sister, Killian.”

“She doesn’t seem to think of you as hers, so what is the point of giving her any label? In my mind, she’s just a random woman who’s out to get you,”

Brielle sighed. “Have you ever thought of hiring one for Calvin?” She asked as he trailed his finger up and down her leg.

“Crosses my mind every day, but he also wants to send one after me. No need for the both of us to start anything, but obviously, he can’t stop initiating problems.” He muttered, and she sighed, nestling herself closer to him.

“..Can we not talk about this anymore?” She whispered, and he nodded.

“Of course,” He responded, and they sat in silence. She started drawing patterns on his hand, and he simply watched her as she did.

“Do you ever get annoyed at me for sleeping in your bed?” she asked, and he replied, “Of course not.”

“.. Okay.” He pulled her closer, and eventually, she shifted positions and ended up straddling his legs.

“Why did you ask?” He questioned, and her cheeks instantly heated up.

“My nightmares had stopped for a few days, but I had one last night, and well, I uh.. wanted to know if you would mind if I uh… you know..” Killian smirked as he pulled her closer by the hips.

“No love, I don’t know. What exactly are you trying to tell me? Speak up now.” Brielle looked up at him as she played with her hands.

“Would you mind if I uh… slept with you tonight?” Killian bit his lip as he quickly pushed Brielle onto the bed, changing positions, and she squealed, gripping his shirt. He hovered over her body and looked down at her flushed face. He leaned down to place a small kiss on her lips before speaking.

“I wouldn’t mind at all.”

Chapter thirty

Brielle walked into the kitchen and flinched once she saw Blaine silently sitting at the kitchen island with his laptop open and his coffee in his hand. He took a sip, not noticing Brielle as she walked to the other side of the counter and placed her hands on the edge.

“Hello, Blaine.” He jumped as he almost spit his coffee out, and he quickly shut his laptop. He coughed as he tried to look normal, and Brielle giggled. “What ya working on?”

“Just some important information I’ve been collecting for Killian.” He responded truthfully, though she could tell he was nervous.

“I’m guessing this is the same thing you two were whispering about yesterday in front of me… And judging by the way you closed the laptop so fast when you saw me, I’m assuming I can’t know about this information?”

“You’re quite the guesser.” He smirked, and they heard a tiny gasp.

“UNCLE BLAINEY!!” He sent Brielle a quick wink before placing the coffee on the table and turning dramatically over to the direction of Delilah’s voice.

“NEICY DEDE?” He asked, got off the chair, and placed his hands on his hips. “Is it really you?”

“Yes, it is!”

“Well, I’m not convinced. You didn’t even give me my hug!” She ran over to him, and he crouched down and caught her in his arms. He stood up, blowing raspberries on her cheeks as she giggled, trying to push him away.

“Well, aren’t you two just the cutest?” Brielle gushed, and Blaine shrugged.

“I guess we can’t help it.” They all laughed as Killian made his way into the kitchen.
