“Different, yes, we know,” Finn interjects. “I’m not blind, and neither is Elias.”

Elias takes the lead. “We’re worried about how she will react to us. The three of us, I mean. It’s been a while since we’ve actually considered a relationship that includes all of us.”

“I don’t think she’d be opposed if I’m being honest,” I say. “I saw the look in her eyes. I know the signs. She’s like an open book. She works hard to keep her professional face on, but her eyes… damn those eyes don’t lie. There’s a hunger in them, Elias. The kind of hunger we like.”

He nods slowly. “If we’re gonna do this, we’ll have to be careful.”

“I agree.”

Finn adds sugar to his second cup of coffee. “She needs protection. Guidance. Most of all she needs to feel safe. Maybe I should do some digging into that Derrick guy and find out what he’s up to.”

“Excellent idea,” I reply. “If Amaya needs a restraining order, we can certainly facilitate that.”

“She won’t take any charity,” Elias warns me. “She’s clearly an independent woman. Before she submits to us, we need to let her decide what she wants to do about him.”

“Yeah, you’ve got a point.”

I can’t get her out of my head, or the shock in her deep brown eyes when she first saw me at the interview. I could’ve called her in advance but it would’ve ruined the surprise, which is exactly what I wanted. I love catching her off-guard though I don’t know why. It’s as if her mind goes blank, and I get to see the purest, most innocent part of her. Like a deer caught in the headlights.

I’ve shaken her to the core and my friends are right—Amaya needs a little bit of time to recover. I made her unravel last night in more ways than one. I felt her on a deeper level, deeper than ever before. She had missed me; I sensed it in her body and I saw it in her eyes.

She responds to me in ways that other women never have. It’s nothing magical, more like pure chemistry. The kind I have never experienced with anyone else. Not even with our ex.

Knowing that Finn and Elias are partial to her, and having seen her reaction to their presence, as well, only serves to reaffirm my own suspicion. If we are able to claim Amaya, she will only blossom, and our lives will change forever.

I dare not dream of that eternal kind of love, in fact, I doubt it even exists for men like us. But Amaya might be the closest we’ll ever get to it, considering our preferred lifestyle. For once, I wish we could share a woman who is eager to be with the three of us because she wants to be, not because it pays a pretty penny. Perhaps I’m in need of a spiritual connection along with the pleasures of the flesh.

“We should let her come to us,” Finn suggests.

“She will never walk into this office and say Finn, Elias, Kace… I want the three of you to fuck my brains out for the rest of my life,” I reply bluntly. “Come on, man.”

“Hold on a minute, I think Kace was on to something,” Elias chimes in. “Amaya did have that sparkle of curiosity in her eyes and she was clearly attracted to all of us, of that I’m certain. I’d like to explore that angle.”

“We can’t proposition her directly,” Finn counters.

“No, but we should pursue her like we would any woman for something more than a one-night stand,” I say.

I’m curious to know if other men talk about these things like the three of us do. Then again, most men don’t make it a habit of sharing women. We’ve been close for years, too many to count at this point, and we’ve been to hell and back together.

We’ve survived so many troubles and weathered so many storms, sticking together without question through it all. We came back to the states and built our empires, never letting go of our special friendship, of the deep bond that we share.

“What about the kid?” Finn asks.

“Has she said anything about him?” Elias joins in.

“No. He’s five. He’s a sweet little boy,” I reply with a slight shrug.

Finn can’t help but smile. “Five years old. Do you think—”

“She would’ve said something,” I cut him off. “She would’ve tracked me down. I didn’t make myself that hard to find.”

“Right, she could’ve gone back to the hotel and asked the receptionist there to divulge private information about a paying customer,” Finn replies, shaking his head in mocking disappointment. “Dude, you need to ask her. He looks just like you.”

Finn’s statement sends a pang of emotion through my heart, a soft ache that stretches deep down into my stomach as I consider the possibility again. “I’ll consider it. I’m not sure she’ll tell me, though. She would’ve said something by now, right?”

“Not unless she fears losing her job. Or complicating her life more,” Elias says. “Think about it, Kace; she’s been on her own this whole time. You can’t exactly walk in and be her knight in shining armor after five years of her doing it all alone.”

“Ever the wiser among us,” Finn quips.
