It’s only Wednesday and our date night is scheduled for Friday. I’m counting down the days and looking forward, as well. Somewhere deep inside me, a different kind of longing has taken hold. The guys are different from any men I’ve ever dated before.

Years ago, when I first met Kace, he struck me as something else entirely. Seeing him with Finn and Elias by his side has opened my eyes to a different aura of his. An openness and sense of self, a kindness and light nature that helps dismantle my own inhibitions, one heavy brick at a time.

I’m dying to know what it’s like to be with the three of them—and not just in the bedroom. I think that’s going to be my problem in the long run. I’m trying to keep it strictly physical, but I’m already wanting more. Much more.

They truly are decent men. Real men who know how to make a woman feel special. Three of them spells trouble, and I can’t bring myself to get off this particular runaway train.

“Sorry I’m late!” a bubbly blonde says as she storms into the studio at the last minute.

The woman is clad in turquoise yoga tights and a white sports bra. Her skin is overly tanned, suggesting she spends too much time in tanning booths.

She’s beautiful, but clearly artificial on one too many levels. Overdone lip filler. Turquoise contacts framed by fake lashes, long and perfectly straight platinum hair. She’s had some work done on her cheeks, and those boobs came from an implant factory, for sure. I reckon she turns her share of heads out there in the real world, but in here she seems out of place.

“Ramada,” Kace says, clearly surprised at her arrival.

“Kace, darling! It’s been ages,” she exclaims, rushing over to hug him. She looks to be in her mid-thirties, sporting the kind of confidence I’d only ever dream of, but that’s not what bothers me. It’s the familiarity with which she touches him. “You look fantastic, by the way. So ripped. Have you been working out?”

Straight to the man’s ego. She’s not really here for yoga, that much I can tell at first glance. Ramada has her sights set on Kace, and it irks me more than I would have expected. Yet I keep a professional demeanor through it all.

“Thank you, yeah, I have,” Kace replies. “I’ve got plenty of time to hit the gym nowadays.”

“It looks good on you,” she says with a sultry grin, turning the charm up even higher. “Seeing anybody?”

“Wow, hi, I’m Amaya!” I cut in from across the room, laughing nervously and completely out of my comfort zone as I wave at her. “I’m the yoga instructor, and I did not have you on my list today. Have we met?”

She gives me a quick glance and practically waves me away. “I’ll be with you in a second, hon,” she says in a flat tone before she switches back to her sweetest self for Kace. “We absolutely have to catch up one of these days.”

She turns her head and notices the other two men. “Oh my gosh! Finn, Elias! How have you been?”

“Good, thank you,” Finn says stiffly while Elias only replies with a flat smile and an equally flat nod. Elias does not like Ramada one bit, and I can totally sympathize with that. Holy crap, am I jealous? “What brings you to the Golden Sequoia Estate?” Finn asks.

The other clients give me a curious look, not sure what to do. I reply with a subtle smile and nod, letting them know that they can start stretching and prepping for the session. I need to figure out how to assert myself in front of a woman who clearly sees me as nothing more than a staff member, someone she can easily ignore and treat as if I’m disposable.

“Work and pleasure, as always,” Ramada replies. “Kace, babe, I’m serious. Brunch tomorrow? I’ve got a few spare hours before a meeting.”

Kace smiles politely and looks at me. “Amaya, this is Ramada Chesterfield. She’s one of our elite clients,” he tells me. “My apologies on behalf of her PA for not informing you of her arrival. She tends to do this without a moment’s notice.”

“I don’t need to apologize, and neither does my PA,” Ramada says, raising a proud, overly plucked eyebrow. “I’m an entrepreneur. I move according to the market, and you three know the fintech market as well as I do.”

“Even so, an email to our central office would have been a courteous gesture in the consideration of other clients,” I mutter.

Ramada stills, slowly turning to glower at me. I think I’m supposed to be intimidated but all she’s doing with her attitude is pissing me off, making it harder for me to stay professional. “I’m sorry, and who are you again?”

“You’re in a yoga class,” Finn says. “Amaya is our top instructor.”

“Thank you,” I mouth to him, and he gives me a discreet wink.

The way Ramada keeps touching Kace’s shoulder is annoying. She’s like a piece of sticky paper. I’m simply here trying to be the friendly yoga instructor but my patience is wearing thin.

“Like I said before, I’m Amaya, and I’m teaching this class,” I decide to assert myself, nonetheless. Otherwise, I risk ending up in an unpleasant situation where a client thinks she can dominate me in front of the rest of my class. I can’t have that. “And I’d love to know how long you’ll be staying so I can add your name to the sessions you want to attend.”

“I’m not sure which sessions I’ll want to attend,” Ramada shoots back. “I’ve got so many meetings crammed into every single day. I’ll just show up whenever I’ve got a spare moment.”

“That’s not how this works,” I try to explain, but she’s about to ruffle her feathers at me again when Kace intervenes.

“What Amaya is trying to say is that these yoga classes are billed separately. We don’t want to cause any confusion with your final invoice. I advise you either pay for a full set of sessions throughout your entire stay or maybe find some time for the gym, instead.”

Ramada thinks about it for a moment, but she never really looks at me. It’s as if she looks right through me. It’s insulting, but I’ve learned not to take people like her seriously.
