“Sorry, girly,” I hear Lena say when she approaches. “Lochlan and I wouldn’t have let you come here if it wasn’t safe.”

Swiping my knuckles over my cheeks to dry them, I tell her, “Well, it’s not his decision. Let’s just go home.”

“Yes, ma’am,” Lena agrees quietly, then we all load up into the SUV.

“Could you not…” I start. “Please don’t tell Lochlan,” I beg them. “He might make things worse, and I know he’ll blame himself. I’ll tell him…later.”

“We won’t mention it unless he asks directly,” Lena agrees.

I wish that being dismissed by the tennis center would be the worst part of my day, but as soon as the SUV pulls up to the estate, there’s a surprise guest strutting up to the front door.

“Who the hell is that?” Toni asks from the passenger seat.

“What the fuck is she doing here?” Lena grumbles as if she knows the curvy blonde. It’s hard to see much of her face yet, but it’s impossible to miss the off-the-shoulder, Barbie-pink dress she’s wearing. One that is so short it looks like it was actually meant to be a top. It would be a crop-top on me. If she leans even a tiny bit forward, her ass would be out.

Which I realize is the entire purpose of her dress.

“It’s one of them, isn’t it?” I ask aloud.

“We can drive around until the guards escort her off the premises,” Lena suggests without answering my question.

“You mean the guards who are standing there with their tongues hanging out?” Toni asks. “Un-fucking-likely unless it comes from...”

“Lochlan,” I finish for her.

I’ve had a shitty morning and want to curl up in my bed until dinner, so I tell the women, “Just let me out here. I can handle her.”

“If you’re sure…” Lena says as Toni slows down the SUV.

Throwing my door open before the tires come to a complete stop, I hop out and head to the front door.

“Can I help you?” I ask the woman who is still chatting with the two guards at the front door.

She turns around to answer me, which is when I realize her pretty face looks familiar. I think she was one of the women at the fundraiser who surrounded Lochlan.

Her brown eyes, surrounded by heavy make-up, survey me from head to toe in my tennis outfit.

“You can’t help me.”

“What the fuck is she doing here?” Toni shouts from behind me to the guards.

“Flynn and Owen said Mr. Dunne approved her visit,” one grunts.

Lochlan approved her visit? Before I can take my phone out of my skirt pocket to call him, she mumbles, “You look relatively unscathed,” as if she’s disappointed. “So awful about the bombing.”

“Yes, it was awful,” I agree.

Smiling at me smugly she says, “It was hard to hear all the details with my mouth busy, but after we were interrupted, Lochlan looked absolutely devastated when he thought you could be hurt.”

“Interrupted?” Did she say her mouth was busy?

No.

She’s lying. Lochlan swore to me that he hasn’t been with anyone. There’s no way he was with her during the bombing. He said he had to fire some employees… Unless, the employees were prostitutes.

“Aw. Did you think Loch would wait for you forever? Men like him need rough, dirty sex regularly or they get cranky. If you won’t give it to him, then somebody has to.”

The night of the bombing…that was definitely before we were having marathon sex. Was he really that desperate that he went to her? He told me he hadn’t been with anyone in the months before the wedding. Was he lying to me, telling me what he knew I wanted to hear?
