Cal’s hand touches my face, his thumbs brushing over my cheek as he cups my face gently, drawing my eyes to him.

“Soon.” He smiles. “I will have a deputy hang around, just in case they come back, casing the place, but I think they are long gone. I think the club will leave someone behind also.”

Maverick nods but I am also still stuck on the ‘Soon,’ that Cal promised.

“A prospect will stay behind, plus Pres has a guy coming to board up the broken window until someone can come in the morning to replace the window. No fucking clue when the insurance will decide to take action,” Maverick informs us.

“You or the club do not need to do that, Maverick. I will arrange for one of my father’s friends to come and help me.” I find my voice again and sit up straight, looking between these two handsome men.

“Not happening, baby. I will take care of you.”

“We,” Cal edges, confusing me more.

Have I slipped into the Twilight Zone? Did I fall over and hit my head and I am unconscious, dreaming all of this?

Maverick grins. “We will take care of things for you.”

“What is going on? Did I miss an entire conversation?”

Maverick gets to his feet, and I have to crane my neck to look up at him. He takes my hand, pulling me to my feet so I am now standing between two men who could easily have their way with me, and I can honestly say that I would never put up a fight.

They inch closer so I can feel their combined body heat. It makes me shiver, in that good way when your body knows that something delicious can come from being wedged between them, but I know that won’t happen.

They are a couple; yeah, they may flirt with me and support me as a local business owner. Shit. The thought hits me, that is what they mean by calling me their girl. I am someone in their community.

Maverick has always been a slut, fucking anything that showed him an ounce of attention, and I know that over the years that has never changed. Grady saw him many times at the Junction leave with different women. As for Cal, I have no idea what he does once he is out of his uniform, but today he is just being overly friendly and maybe taking a page out of Maverick’s book with the innocent flirting.

Fuck me, I feel stupid.

Sighing, I step back from between them, making them both frown.

Crossing my arms over my chest, which pushes my breasts up, I notice that both men don’t hesitate to drop their gazes to look at the swell of the girls in the cream camisole that I am wearing.

I am usually dressed in a t-shirt with my shop logo on it when I am working, but since I just popped in to check on things, I am in my every-day clothes.

“Will you thank Magnum and the club for helping? Both of you also, thank you for everything that you have done.”

“Darcy?” Cal asks and I can hear the concern in his tone that matches the frown on his handsome face.

“I need to check on my staff. They need to know that I am not opening tomorrow due to the repairs and the shock of what happened today.”

Maverick goes to speak but Cal lays a hand on his arm, shaking his head slightly, stopping him from whatever he was about to say.

“Okay. I will still leave a deputy, and I know that Mav will leave a prospect posted. If you need anything, call me. Hand over your cell.”

He holds his hand out to me expectantly. Damn, his hands look strong and I know that they could do wicked things to me.

No, shut up, I cry in my head.

I hand over the phone, thanking the fashion gods for adding pockets to my maxi skirt.

He adds his number, then hands the device back to me.

“Mine and Maverick’s numbers are in there. Call us for anything. Only us, Darcy, you hear me?” I nod mutely.

I know deep down that the first calls will go to my father and then my brothers. They may be younger than me, but they are bigger and stronger and will protect me at all costs.

“Is that all for now?” I ask, my voice cracking a little as emotion leaks back into my body.
