“I’m sorry, what now? I am making you want to fuck me? It is you who is throwing around sexy words with that low voice that was made for phone sex, Calder Price. This is not on me. I am the one resisting you.”

He scoffs. “As if you could.”

“Try me,” I growl.

Holy shit, his grin turns predatory, making me quiver in my seat. Shit.

Dark eyes, smirk in place, his hand going to his crotch as he pushes down on his cock that is bulging in his jeans.

My eyes flare, my breathing picks up as arousal fills my body.

“Yeah, fucking thought so.”

I blink, looking away. “Whatever.”

“Okay, I can be serious. Fuck, I have to be.” He scrubs his hand over his face, before looking to me.

“Kane is here to stay, Kitten. I want you to stay. We are new, and I get that, but fuck me, I want you with me; with us. If you want to walk away now, tell me and I will keep shit platonic between us when we are around each other, and I will try not to kill every motherfucker you date.”

“I didn’t think you knew the meaning of ‘platonic’,” I joke, making him laugh.

“I am not all about the pussy, baby. I have a good head on my shoulders as well as a fucking epic one between my thighs.”

“Like I said, I am scared, Calder. What if I take that chance and fuck up with him? Cause him pain? I would never forgive myself, and I would lose everyone, because I know that the club would turn me out, even though my sister is married to the President’s son.”

Emotion balls up in my chest as I tell him this.

“Come here.” I am picked up and placed in his lap like I weigh nothing.

I straddle his lap, my hands on his stomach, his on my hips.

“So many fucking things are running through my head, but I need to settle one thing before any others. You will never be exiled from the club unless you betray them in a way that you can never come back from. If we start something, and we, we decide to end it, then we move on. It is no one else’s business, baby, but I can tell you that I like that you have your kitten claws in me, because I don’t want you to let go.”

“We were only just starting out, Calder, but we were thrown into the deep end of the swimming pool. You floated, while I sank. Surely you don’t want a flake around your son.”

“Enough of this shit. I want my feisty Kady back. The chick who is mouthy, who is more than happy to put someone in their place and tell them how it is. I want her back; I want my kitten with sharp claws back. We go into this at our pace, alright?”

Sighing, I lean forward, resting my forehead against his, my hands slipping up his chest, gripping the edges of his leather cut. The scent of leather, sandalwood, and baby powder invade my senses, and I shiver.

“We’ve got this. Fuck, I am awesome on my own, baby, but together, we will be fucking epic. Best parents that kid will ever have. I have seen you with the club brats; you care for them, help them when they need something. Was it not you who soothed and comforted Adley when she fell over in the yard and grazed her knee?” I nod. “If I remember correctly, it was also you, not her parents, or the members of the club, who could soothe Mable when she was teething not long ago. Our pace, baby.”

“They are pretty awesome kids, and I do seem to be a wizard when it comes to calming kids,” I confess, making him chuckle.

Leaning back, I look at him.

“I was going to say witch, but whatever.” I slap his bicep.

My hand freezes on the hard muscle. It has been a whole week since I have touched him. It freaks me out that I missed his touch or touching him despite the short time we were dating.

Shit, were we dating?

He laughs.

“Yeah, baby, we are.”

Slapping my hand across my forehead, I sigh.

“I said that out loud, didn’t I?”
