Me:

How was your date?

Cami:

Delicious. LOL. It was good. I’ll see him again tonight. I can say that he definitely knows how to use his nightstick.

Me:

What? You test-drove it?

Cami:

Girl, yes. And it was fucking amazing. Pun intended.

Me:

I’m happy for you. Sebastian and I didn’t have sex, but he took very good care of me.

I added the lick emoji.

Cami:

And? You can’t leave me hanging.

I snorted as my fingers flew across the keyboard.

Me:

A ten+. The man knows his stuff.

Cami:

Good. It’s about time for both of us. Babe, I gotta go work a day shift, and then Ryan is picking me up. Catch ya tomorrow?

I paused, realizing that Cami was really into him. What did they say? Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. Shit, I wasn't sure if this was a smart idea, but if I could spend some time with Ryan, I might be able to keep Sebastian and the Safe Horizon Society safe. And Death. My desire to protect both men wasn’t healthy, but I couldn’t seem to stop myself. Besides, it would raise suspicions if we didn’t all hang out. I would rather control the situation than let it sneak up on me.

Me:

No. After you two get naked and of course dressed again, I was hoping you could stop by and see me at Velvet Vortex so the guys can meet each other. Plus, I could use the time to unwind after work. My ass will be dragging, but I’m counting on that adrenaline to kick in. LOL.

Cami:

I like the way you think. Priorities. Naked first, friends second. LMAO. Love you, babe.

Me:

LOL Love you, too. Sebastian will take his break around 8 p.m., so any time before or after.

Thank god, I had time to take a nap after work and before I met Cami.

Cami:

Perfect. See ya later.

Once I’d made plans with Cami and Ryan, I texted Mom to check on Dad. She responded with a thumbs-up and said she’d update me soon since the doctor had just walked in.

My thoughts wandered to the medical bills and how I would pay them without Death’s assistance from the webcam job.
