Daddy sir? Hell, I didn’t mind that at all.

“You after some blood?”

His laugh was lower than normal and cruel. “Oh, yes.”

I released my hold and shoved the leader hard. He stumbled forward and fell to the ground. I dropped low as some fired their guns my way.

There was a snarl, rip, and suddenly Riker, in his fox form, was on the leader, tearing into his skin like it was paper. He bit, scratched, and tore.

I rolled and shot a member as he came at me. Nox took down the next few with his guns.

A roar sent shivers down my spine, and I glanced over to see Deacon as his huge bear chased after the ones running. His huge paws slapped loudly on the concrete.

Since I was somewhat safe as the carnage happened around me, I rested on my side with my head in my hand and watched the brothers work.

Riker was a magnificent sight to behold.

His fox had finished killing their leader and bolted for another. He ran up the guy’s back and latched onto his neck. I went to get up when I saw the guy punching at my fox, but Riker released him and snapped at his hand, his shoulder, his jaw. The guy dropped to his knees and the fox slipped around to the front of the guy, ripping out a piece of his throat.

Maybe, just maybe, I wouldn’t be as jittery as I was when Riker left for a job.

Seeing how they performed in a risky situation was better than hearing about it.

Though, I’d still offer up some help since they’d witnessed how I worked.

CHAPTER TWELVE

RIKER

“I know I keep saying it, but I really, really mean it. You were the sexist man I’d ever seen walking into that group like you owned the place,” I told my wonderful, amazing mate once again as we drove back to his place after leaving Deacon, Nox, and Mom to deal with the rest. I already knew our job was done, but the council would get their detectives to investigate the gang more and find out who was behind their order to sell the poor little children.

I didn’t want to think about them now, though. I’d just get mad, and there was no one left to kill.

Instead, I picked up my mate’s hand, which was already in mine, and rubbed it against my cheek. We’d washed up at the warehouse before we’d headed outside. Even Corbin had a different tee on when I joined him. I hadn’t wanted to scare the kiddies any more than they already were. If I walked out with blood and guts all over me, I would have. Luckily, Nox had stored a bag of our clothes outside when we’d first arrived.

I kissed and licked at Corbin’s fingers. He was the bestest thing I could have seen in that moment in the warehouse when my hunger and need to hunt, hurt, and kill was at the snapping point.

Until I saw him.

Until he strolled on out like God’s gift, and boy, was he a gift, and he handled that situation like a hero in a movie.

The kiddies were safe. They would be reunited with families because my mate had made it so.

“Glad you thought so, sunshine.”

“I know my brothers were worried about me,” I said, and added softly, honestly, “I was too. I thought I was going to lose it in front of them.” I brightened at my next words. “But then I saw you and those darker feelings washed away. You brought me back.” I kissed his knuckles and clutched his arm to my chest.

My fox chittered and purred inside me.

We were very grateful our mate was here.

“We need to fuck,” I told him, and he chuckled. “I want to show you how happy it made me you were there.”

Desire filled his eyes as he peered over at me with an electrifying heat. “It’s good that we’re heading to the compound, then.”

“Why there?” I asked. People would want his attention, and he’d get distracted from me. I didn’t want that. I needed him to fill me and fuck me hard.

Own me.
