“You’re welcome.” I curled an arm around his shoulders, and as he talked to his brothers, he ate. Satisfaction filled me at seeing Corbin devour the food.

Reckless was right. I only noted a few of Corbin’s men glaring at us. The rest were either listening to Corbin, Monkey, and Spade talking or having their own conversations. They didn’t look at us with disdain in their gazes.

There was a scuffle down the hallway, and I heard Coms saying, “Quit movin’ like that, bitch.” He entered with a grip on Harper’s upper arm, and she kept trying to pull free.

Corbin tapped my ass. I stood and moved in behind him when he scooted his chair back to face their approach.

“What the fuck is this, Razor?” Harper snapped.

I wanted to stab her in the throat for her tone and her nasty, scrunched-up face.

Corbin stood. “Brothers, let it be known that Harper is no longer allowed in our club.”

“You can’t,” she screeched, tugging on her arm again to move toward Corbin.

I wished he’d let her. Grinning, I rocked on my feet, ready to take her down if she even tried to touch him.

Corbin glowered down at her. “I can and I will.” He addressed the room again. “She’s banned from here, from speakin’ to any member, from touchin’ any member.”

Brothers grunted, shouted, or nodded their acknowledgment.

“Means the other women here, too, Harper,” Spade added. “You stay away from them.”

She laughed. “You think the brothers will want to give this up?” She grabbed her crotch. “They won’t listen?—”

“Bitch, we only put up with you for Writer’s sake,” Reckless called. “You been tryin’ for other brothers for a while, but did anyone take you up on the offer? We don’t stick it in toxic bitches.”

The brothers agreed in their own way while Harper glanced all around her with a sour face.

“Yeah, well, Writer still wants me.” She placed her attention back on Corbin for a beat before it slid to me standing at his side. “He’s going to make me his old lady. I’m not going anywhere.”

Laughing, I tucked my chin down and looked up at her. “Writer is no more.”

She shifted away. “What do you mean?”

Corbin explained, “He’s been kicked out of the club for the money he stole. Money you no doubt encouraged him to take. The club’s sellin’ his place for repayment. In fact, he’s there now packin’ up.”

She tore her arm away and stormed toward Corbin.

Red coated my vision.

I rushed her and took her to the ground with my hand around her throat. It wasn’t hard and I didn’t bang her down. Just surprised her with my speed and action so she, more or less, fell with my guiding. I didn’t harm women—unless it was necessary and in a life-and-death situation.

My fox and I growled in her ear.

She never would have heard that sound from a human.

She stilled and stared up at me as if I was a monster as I slowly pulled away.

I was.

“You’ll do as he says. You’ll stay away from everyone associated with the club or I’ll come for you and when I do, I won’t be easy on you, Harper. I’ll take my time and make sure you suffer for messing with my man.”

Pulling back, I peered into her eyes with my fox.

Then I jumped up and brushed my hands together, walking back to Corbin.

The room was silent. I didn’t know why. They’d seen me defend before when that dirtbag touched one of my friends. What was different this time?
