Corbin curved his arm around my shoulders when I wrapped mine around his waist and tucked myself into his side. He dipped down to kiss my forehead. I winked up at him.

“No blood.”

“You did good, sunshine.”

I preened at his words and snuggled closer.

Harper kept her mouth closed as she got to her feet.

“Looks like Harper got the message,” Spade said, his tone light with humor.

She sent him the middle finger.

“Prank, grab a brother and escort Harper off our property to Writer’s so she can pack.”

Her gaze flashed wide for a moment.

Corbin must have seen it, he said, “Yeah, we know you were livin’ with him. You’ll get some cash to help you find a place. But don’t ever come back here for anythin’. No one will help you. Hear me?”

When she stayed quiet, I moved out of Corbin’s arms.

“I hear you,” she said quickly before she turned and walked out with some men following her.

“Wish that was all the business we had to talk about, but it ain’t,” Corbin announced. “For those who don’t know, but probably figured, Writer was skimmin’ off our books.” Voices rose but stopped when Corbin’s hand shot up again. “He’s not a brother any longer. No one is to communicate with him or Harper. If you do, there’ll be consequences.”

No one said a word.

“Coms, take note of what we’re about to talk about,” he ordered.

Coms tipped his chin up and pulled out his phone.

My mate looked tired even though we hadn’t been awake for long. We didn’t get much sleep, and I doubt he had any regrets about that, but I would make sure he got enough sleep in the future, so he had enough energy to deal with annoying matters.

Before he sat down on his seat again, he leaned the back of it up against the table to face everyone. I picked my spot on the floor, leaning against his leg. His hand cupped the back of my neck.

“Shouldn’t we be doin’ this meetin’ in church for just members?” someone called, but I recognized the butthead as the same man who called Corbin a pansy.

“You talkin’ about Riker bein’ here, Marker?”

Marker.

Huh, suited him because I’d put a marker on him, and he’d soon be dead if he caused any more stress to my mate.

I looked up to Corbin. “I can go to the bedroom.”

Marker scoffed, and his friend who’d also said something before snorted. Marker shook his head. “Yeah, be a good whore and—Oof.” He glared at Monkey who’d punched him in the gut. “What’d you do that for?”

“Learn to shut the hell up, you fucker, and respect the prez’s partner.”

“A guy?” he spluttered, straightening. “You can’t be serious with a guy.”

“What’s wrong with it?” Coms asked.

“It ain’t right. That’s what’s wrong,” Marker replied.

“Yeah, it’s disgustin’,” his asshole friend added.

“You’ll just agree with anythin’ Marker says, Boff,” another called.
