“Maybe you can be a troop mom,” Sophie says, putting on her shoes.

I still, waiting to hear Ana’s answer.

Have I thoroughly convinced her this is where she should stay?

“I would love that,” Ana says, and my muscles unclench. “But then who would watch the baby?”

Sophie looks up, her braid bouncing against her back. “Daddy. He’ll watch the baby.”

A chuckle escapes my throat. But it’s loud enough to hear.

They look my way, and I feel claimed.

“Of course, I’ll watch the baby if you want Ana to do Brownies with you.”

“Can you go tonight?” Sophie asks.

“Ana and I are going to a birthing class,” I tell her so Ana doesn’t have to say no.

“Oh.”

“Hey, you.” I hold Sophie’s chin when I get closer. “I already asked if we could go to bowling night, but Mrs. Harlen said they had enough moms.”

“Do dads chaperone?” Ana steps toward me.

“Not many.”

“Mostly stay-at-home moms?”

It’s the first time I consider if Ana… Heck, Stasia Koslov, the Bratva princess, has any career aspirations.

Although, the way she was raised, I don’t fault her if she doesn’t.

“I guess.” I sneak her a look, then peer down at Sophie. “Let’s get moving. Your vest looks great, honey.”

“Ana rearranged all the badges.”

“I see.” I glance at Ana, and when she passes, I whisper, “You’re good with those hands, aren’t you?”

“You should know.”

CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

Darragh

The prenatal yoga class goes much like the first one. I give Ana several orgasms, and I’m leaking precum into my briefs.

Since we were feral for each other last time, we rushed out of the studio. This time, with the fever under control, and knowing Ana will be in my bed, or I’ll be in hers later, we linger and mingle with the other expectant parents to give her a chance to ask other moms questions I really can’t answer.

Ana looks deep in conversation with two moms-to-be. I pick up on the infant tips she’s asking for. The way Ana interacts with the women, I think I’m with someone else. This is not the scared bunny rabbit left out in the rain I found in Las Vegas.

She’s back to the woman she used to be, a social butterfly coming out of her cocoon. But sans any princess pretense. It all screams of the normal life I’ve fought for, too.

I still hate what Cormac did to her, but that was part of the journey to who she is now. If I’d known he had her, the woman everyone back home was looking for, and what he was doing to her, I’d have stolen her earlier.

Then…

She wouldn’t have this wonderful life growing inside her. Since I’ve been sleeping with her, the baby feels like mine. I’ve fallen for her, and I doubt Cormac felt anything for this woman.
