"Come on, Sara. After spending all day with you, I'm hard as fuck. I need a release." He leans in closer, his breath hot and heavy on my face. "And if you want me to keep your dirty little secrets, you're going to suck my dick, right here and now."

I'm frozen in shock, unable to move or speak. I can't believe this is happening. I try to pull away again, but Lorenzo's grip only tightens.

Just then, there's a knock on the window of my side of the car. I jump, startled, and turn.

Standing outside the window is a tall, lean figure with short black hair and piercing blue eyes. It's Dimitri. For the first time ever, I'm happy to see him.

I yank my hand out of Lorenzo's grasp and fumble to open the car door. He grabs my wrist, his grip like a vice.

"Who the hell is that?" he hisses.

I don't respond, freeing my arm and scrambling out of the car. Dimitri is standing there casually, hands in his pockets, as if he didn't just witness what was happening.

"I need to borrow your economics textbook," he says matter-of-factly. "I have an assignment due tomorrow."

I stare at him briefly, bewildered, before catching on. "Oh, uh, yeah sure. It's up in my room." I grab Dimitri's hand and pull him away quickly, not daring to look back at Lorenzo.

We hurry up the steps to the front door of my sorority house. Just as I'm about to open it, I freeze.

Scrawled across the white door in dripping red letters are the ominous words "CAMPUS KILLER."

My blood turns to ice. Okay, this is starting to get out of hand.

CHAPTER SEVEN

DIMITRI

Istare in disbelief at the message scrawled across Sara's sorority house door. CAMPUS KILLER. Sara lets go of my hand and rushes to the door, frantically trying to wipe the red paint off with her scarf. But it's no use, the words mock us.

Anger wells up inside me as I watch Sara's desperate attempts to clean the door. I step forward and firmly pull her back, turning her away from the door to face me.

"Sara, stop. Just leave it. You're only making it worse."

She looks up at me, her grey eyes filled with tears. "I can't just leave it there, Dimitri. What if someone sees it?"

I take a deep breath and force myself to calm down. "It's okay. I'll take care of it."

I lead her inside her room and close the door behind us. She sinks down onto her bed, her shoulders slumped in defeat.

"This isn't the first time I've received a threat like this," she says softly. "Ever since Boris and Andrei... I've been getting these kind notes and messages. I don't know who's doing it, but they're trying to scare me."

I sit down next to her and take her hand in mine. "I didn't do it, Dimitri. I would never hurt anyone like that. And I certainly wouldn't go after your men. I didn't even tell my dad. I swear!"

I squeeze her hand reassuringly. "I know you wouldn't. And I believe you."

She nods, her eyes filling with tears again. "I just want it to stop. I don't feel safe anymore."

I pull her into my arms and hold her tight. "I won't let anything happen to you, Sara. I promise."

"I'm not leaving you alone tonight," I say firmly. "I'll stay here and make sure you're safe."

Sara pulls away from me and looks up, her grey eyes filled with uncertainty. "I appreciate the offer, but I don't think that is a good idea."

I shake my head. "I obviously can't let you stay here alone after what just happened. What if the person that did this is still lurking around…"

Sara bites her lip, looking torn. "But where will you sleep? There's only one bed in my room."

I shrug. "I can sleep on the floor. It's not a big deal." Don't let me sleep on the floor.
