“Mac,” I cry, trying to move away as the feeling builds, becoming too much. He presses his thumb against my backside, forcing the digit into the tight hole. It’s enough to send me spiralling over the edge, and I moan into the pillow as I shake uncontrollably. When my body calms down and I begin to relax, he releases me, slapping my arse hard.

“Shower, so we can eat breakfast cos I’m starving,” he orders. I roll onto my side, too exhausted to speak. His erection stands proudly, and I smile, edging closer. He watches with amused eyes as I run my tongue up his shaft. “You think you’re clever,” he mutters, closing his eyes and letting his head fall back when I take him into my mouth. I work my mouth up and down, hollowing my cheeks and sucking with everything I have. I’m determined to see this man come apart again. He fists my hair, occasionally letting a groan escape. Cupping his balls, I feel the way they tighten in my hand. He’s almost there . . . and that’s when he pulls away, jumping up from the bed and pressing his head against the cool glass of the window. He stays there for a minute, panting with his eyes closed while he regains control.

“Shower,” he repeats, and I head that way, smirking as I go. Something about his self-restraint is a massive turn-on. I love a challenge . . . it just adds to the excitement.

MAC

I can’t concentrate on fuck all. Not what Riggs was trying to tell me at breakfast, not what Ace was moaning to me about afterwards when we went for a run, and not now while Blade is tying a man to a chair on behalf of the great Vincent Romano. How I landed this job is a mystery, but I suspect it’s what Riggs was telling me about earlier when I wasn’t listening.

The guy looks like he’s recently taken a beating as he struggles against the tight ropes. “Mr. Romano will be with us shortly, so save your energy for then,” says Blade, looking bored.

“Remind me again what we’re doing here,” I ask.

“Man, I know as much as you. I get the guy, I tie the guy up, sometimes I slit his throat, other times I give Vinn the knife to do it. But whatever, as long as I get a fat cheque at the end of it, I don’t care.”

“If Riggs is turning the club around, why do we still help Vinn out?”

“Ask the Pres, I don’t have the answers.”

The door opens and Vinn saunters in like a fucking king. Behind him is Raven, and I narrow my eyes. Why the fuck is Raven here? “Mr. Clay, we have to stop crossing paths like this,” says Vinn with a smile.

He pulls the gag from the man’s mouth. “Fuck you, Vinn. I did what you asked. I gave you what you wanted.”

“Imagine crossing my path not once, but twice, and not having the brains to up security. You’re a well-respected man, Raymond. Do you mind if I call you that? Good.”

“I haven’t crossed you again!”

“Raven, be a darling and wipe the man’s face. He’s sweating, and no man likes that look, especially not a gay man like him.” I watch as Raven steps forward and wipes the guy’s brow. She shouldn’t be here on this kind of business. “While you’re there, show Raymond the pictures.”

Raven opens an envelope and pulls out some pictures, showing them to the man who begins thrashing around like a possessed demon. “You stay away from them!” he screams, almost head-butting Raven in his struggle.

“Your wife is a stunner, and those kids . . . you’re a lucky, lucky man.”

“What do you want?” he yells.

“I hear you’re a good friend of the editor down at the Gazette?” says Vinn, and I glare at Blade. All this to avoid a bad fucking newspaper article? “You need to warn him not to run any more bad press stories on me. It doesn’t look good for me.”

“Especially the one today,” the guy spits out, and Vinn laughs, pulling Raven into his side.

“Yes, as you can imagine, my wife-to-be isn’t too happy about it. Luckily, she knew all about my relationship with Raven, so no damage done.”

My eyes burn into Raven, and she gently pulls away from Vinn. “I don’t blame you,” says the man, smirking and staring at Raven’s arse. “I’d tap that if she were my personal assistant.”

My fist slams into the side of his head, and Raven flinches but lowers her eyes. “Don’t talk about her like that,” I growl.

“Now, look what I did, upset the gorillas.” He grins, spitting blood onto the ground.

“Go cool off,” snaps Vinn.

I storm out of the room, taking the steps two at a time to get out of there. Raven follows, calling my name. I get out into the fresh air and spin to face her. “What story?” I yell.

“There was another one printed. It says he doesn’t support the women’s shelter as he has no respect for women.”

I scoff. “At least they got that right.”

“It goes into detail about his fling with me. I’m painted out as some scarlet woman,” she mutters, her cheeks turning red with embarrassment. “Falling for a wicked man’s charm while his innocent fiancée is left heartbroken.”

I sigh, pulling her into my arms. “Why the hell were you in there anyway? You shouldn’t be doing shit like that. Look what happened before.”
