I walk up to my building and I freeze.
I look around.
Campus is abuzz with people.
People coming and going from classes.
Couples holding hands.
Groups of friends talking, laughing.
People sprawled out across the greens, reading, listening to music, and high as a kite, wearing sunglasses, staring up at the late morning sun.
I think about my upcoming hockey schedule.
Practice. Games.
I think about my tutoring schedule with Willow.
Not that I need her to tutor me at all, but I enjoy the company.
I touch my jaw.
This is my plan right now…
Go inside. Take a shower.
No.
Skip that.
No shower.
Well, yeah, maybe a quick rinse.
Because I’m going to hit the gym.
I don’t want to show up to the gym and smell like sex.
Then again… why not?
Who cares?
Or…
A new plan hits me.
I realize I’ve just wasted a ton of time here.
Walking all the way across campus. Just to get to my dorm. Just to take a shower.
What the hell, Jax?
This is proof that I’m slipping. That Mila has pushed me over the edge here.
Why in the world would I shower alone?
