She felt two of his fingers slide into her empty hold. “Oh, darling, I think one more day, and you’ll be ready to take my cock back here.”

A whimper escaped her at the feeling of his digits twisting inside her. She wanted to feel him inside her, and that was shocking. She’d never thought she would want a man back there, but she did.

He slapped her on the ass again, the heat soaring through her. “Now you can come. Come all over me.”

Her body shook, and ripples filled her as she came, crying out loud. “Cal. Please.”

As she stared into his emerald eyes twinkling under thick, dark lashes, she felt explosions inside her body before he shoved into her one last time and then coated her with his cum.

They’d forgotten to use a condom. Damn, but right now, she didn’t care. Right now, she wanted this feeling to go on forever. The feel of him deep inside her as her orgasm began to ebb. He sank down on top of her, crushing her breasts against the desk.

“Darling, that’s what you missed the other morning,” he said, his voice breathy as his body shook.

For a moment, she lay there letting the feel of him being close fill her. Oh, how she didn’t want to tell him who she was or why she was in town. And yet, she needed answers.

He lifted her off the desk, and she could never be in this office again without thinking of what had happened on this desk.

Holding onto her, they led her to a couch where they all collapsed together, holding onto each other.

“Damn, that was good,” Cal said.

Nathan chuckled. “Good enough I think we should take her home with us tonight. You need to move out of that hotel and stay with us while you’re here.”

That would be wonderful. But first, they needed to know her reasons for being here. She couldn’t keep it from them any longer. It was time to confess the truth.

“There’s something I need to talk to you about,” she said. “Something you’re not going to like.”

“Have a seat,” he said.

“My grandparents once owned the Sweet B Ranch, and I want it back,” she said.

The man’s face blanched, and he leaned back in his chair. “That’s why your name sounds familiar.”

“Yes,” she said. “We were forced to leave when I was eight. This morning, I spent time at the courthouse researching the sale of the property. No money was exchanged; only a signed deed handed over.”

CHAPTER 5

Cal was still in the post-coital haze, and he wasn’t ready to hear that she was married or had a steady boyfriend or anything else. Why couldn’t they enjoy this moment?

“My grandparents once owned the Sweet B Ranch, and I want it back,” she said.

His heart skipped a beat, and he gazed at Lillian knowing this could be a real problem. “That’s why your name sounds familiar.”

“Yes,” she said. “My grandmother had two husbands, Kenneth Everitt and Paul Bradley. Paul’s family was the one who passed the ranch on to him. We lived there until I was eight.”

“My grandfather, Ronald Thomas, is the one who gave me the ranch,” Cal said. “He’s in a nursing home now, paralyzed from the waist down from a horse accident.”

“I’m sorry to hear that,” she said. “This morning, I spent time at the courthouse researching the sale of the property. There was no money exchanged, only a signed deed.”

His grandfather had always been secretive about how he obtained the ranch. Cal knew the land had not been handed down to him. In fact, he’d never known his grandmother. And he hadn’t known Cal until he was nine. Now there was someone trying to lay claim to the land and he had no idea how his grandfather had gotten the acreage.

“Do you know anything about how your grandfather took the ranch from my grandfather?”

Cal had nothing to hide. He knew nothing.

“No. I didn’t grow up here. CPS dropped me off when I was nine,” he said, not wanting to talk about what he’d endured before then.

“Could I speak to your grandfather? Ask him how he obtained the ranch and if he knows anything about my grandfather Paul. I want to find him and talk to him. Ask him what happened.”
