Duncan stood by the bed, the soft glow of moonlight shining through the window and casting an ethereal aura over the two men as they slept. He couldn’t help but stare down at them, his gaze drawn to their peaceful faces and the way their bodies fit together on the rumpled sheets.

Ever since first laying eyes on Orion, he had been inexplicably drawn to him. As for Izel, Duncan was starting to see the man, not the reaper, shine through. It changed Duncan’s perception of the intimidating reaper.

He walked toward the window, staring at the driveway below. He thought about the forest, how lost Izel had seemed, how vulnerable he’d appeared. Setting aside the fact that Izel was a reaper, Duncan realized there was more to him than met the eye. He used to be human. What was Izel’s life before? How had he lived, and how had he died?

Duncan heard a rustle from the bed and turned away from the window. Izel was propped up on his elbow, his dark eyes fixed on him in the dim light of the room. Duncan’s heart raced as he realized Izel had been watching him all this time.

“Do reapers sleep?” Duncan asked softly, not wanting to wake Orion.

He sensed that there were still depths to Izel, layers of mystery waiting to be uncovered. As for Orion, he was a maze of complexities, drawing Duncan in like a magnet. He was determined to unravel the enigma that was each of his mates, eager to learn all there was to know about them.

Despite Orion’s initial protests and reluctance to accept their bond as mates, Duncan could feel the pull between them growing stronger with each passing moment. It pulsed between them, electric and undeniable.

Despite his initial rejection of Izel as his mate, Duncan couldn’t ignore the intense feelings he had for the man. He could see the pain and longing in Izel’s eyes, a lost and desperate look that tugged at his heartstrings. It was clear that his mate was unhappy with his job, like a caged bird yearning to spread its wings and fly free.

Which was a stark contrast to how Duncan had viewed the guy before as someone with no emotions whatsoever. Duncan had been wrong about Izel. There was no way he would be able to see so much in Izel’s eyes if the guy’s emotions were still muted. He had a hunch they were emerging.

Duncan walked toward the bed and sank onto it, his eyes locking with Izel’s in a heated gaze. A primal desire surged through him, igniting a fire in his groin that only his mates could quench.

“Can we pick up where we left off in the alley?”

“Running from evil?” Duncan asked with a smirk, knowing full well what Izel was talking about.

Izel slowly rose, his body fluid and sensual, sleek with muscles as he stalked toward Duncan with predatory grace. His face drew closer, his lips slightly parted in anticipation. Duncan couldn’t believe the intense desire he felt for this man, his body already responding to Izel’s presence.

“I was referring to pinning you against the wall.” Izel grazed his lips over Duncan’s cheek. His warm breath made Duncan briefly close his eyes as he tried to slow his racing heart. “Do not fear me, kitten.”

Duncan’s gaze locked onto Izel’s dark eyes, his voice dropping to a husky whisper. “I don’t fear you,” he murmured, drawn in by the electrifying connection between them. The passion and desire in Izel’s twin orbs fueled Duncan’s own longing.

His skin tingled as Izel’s soft, silky lips traced a path down his neck. Fire ignited in Duncan’s core, his arousal growing with each touch. His mind filled with lustful fantasies of the possibilities between them.

His cock pulsed with need.

“It’s been too damn long for me.” Izel’s tongue slid over Duncan’s Adam’s apple. “I want to bring you so much pleasure.”

“I’m down for that,” Duncan managed to say between pants.

“Let me wreck you.” Izel breathed the words over Duncan’s skin.

Duncan had craved something even remotely close to what his brothers had. And now he had it, or would have it once the three of them got their act together.

Izel’s lips slid down Duncan’s neck, leaving a trail of hot kisses. With each touch, Duncan’s body arched in pleasure, his muscles tensing with desire. Izel took his time, nipping Duncan’s jaw, filling him with a delicious ache that begged for release.

Izel’s lips trailed teasingly down Duncan’s neck, sending waves of pleasure through his body. His cock strained against the confines of his jeans. Izel’s skilled hands traced the outline of Duncan’s body, finding the snap on his jeans and slowly undoing it. The anticipation was almost unbearable.

Duncan’s breath hitched as Izel slowly lowered his jeans. With a sly smile, Izel stripped Duncan bare.

Unable to contain his need, Duncan tugged at Izel’s leather, revealing a chiseled and toned body that left Duncan breathless.

“No puedo creer cuánto te deseo,” Duncan said.

Izel’s eyes darked, as if he knew the language.

“I can’t believe how much I want you,” Orion said as he sat up and looked between them, his dark hair a disheveled and sexy mess.

“You speak Spanish?” Duncan asked Orion.

“My mom is from Spain, which makes me half Spanish since my dad wasn’t,” Orion said. “I grew up speaking both Spanish and English.”
